The CSI team are so devoted and excellent at their work and give you the impression that not only this is the way that everything should be done -in terms of seriousness, responsibility and broadened knowledge- but also that this is the way they are done.. It is amazing what one can do with so little evidence.. They put the pieces together and their instinct never lets them down.. It seems that for them their job is their life and they would do anything to be efficient at their job.. The feeling they have after one more triumph of their team is their reward..
We have Mac & Stella dealing with a woman literally shot through the heart with a arrow. Where this case leads them is interesting from the playboy being a possible target to the ladies he "follows" seeking revenge. But as it turns out, it definitely a crime of passion but not from the party they thought. Which I thought was a great twist. A "pasted" concert promotor was a more cut & dry for me. I knew Gus Drood had a hand in it, I just didn't know how much the band was involved. I loved the interaction between Mac & Lindsay in this episode. Both with the bows & guitars. He very much respects her skills & thought process and she is still willing to learn new investigative skills. Of course we have the scene at Cozy's were Danny learns a thing or two about his boss which is nice. Mac does have skills outside of the lab.
This was a really cute episode. Loved the musical tie in and there were a lot of great scenes. I also loved the scenes with Stella on the computer and the mosaics.
spoilers inside.
Loved seeing Frankie and Stella together before he went all craaaazy. Also liked the whole art exhibit. Some modern art can be amazing. Then there was also the whole death bit in the beginning. That must be horrible, when the girl died and he was stuck to her? Crazy. THE CASES:
First there was the case of the whole chick being murdered. Carlo was a jerk. He used women, and you can't blame the guy for wanting to kill him. I mean even Flack admitted he wanted to kill him. You felt sorry for the artist, because it was supposed to be a party for his work, but it was a party for Carlo to get laid.
Then there was the case with the Rough Sects. I loved them, and I love how the manager makes the girl's think they killed the guy when in actuality he killed him. The manager could have saved him but he covered the guy with glue. What a jerk. And I felt sorry for the girls because of the manager.
FAVORITE SCENES:
The black book scene with Flack. All the quotes from it. And how him and Stella were checking it out. And he kept saying "his words, not mine." I love my Flack. I also loved the scene with Lindsay and the arrow and how she wanted to do it again. The look on her face after she fires it in the bull's-eye for the second time? Absolutely adorable. I love Lindsay
I also loved the whole Mac at the Jazz club and Danny and Lindsay together. Very cute. Love them together.
OVERALL:
This was a really cute episode. Loved the musical tie in and there were a lot of great scenes. I also loved the scenes with Stella on the computer and the mosaics.
So the eppy started off with Stella and her boyfren, Frankie at an art gallery. (Note: Frankie's an artist) And fast forward to the rooftop. Well, a couple was kissing and suddenly an arrows starts flying and goes right through both the couple. Caution : Avoid kissing on the rooftop next time. =P I like the idea of making a painitng with inserting tiny other lil pictures. It's creative i must say.
Second case is followed up by Danny and Lindsay bout a guy found in glue. And nearby, a group of band called the Rough Sects were practising. In the end, it was one of band members who killed the guy and the producer of the band poured glue over the poor guy.
Oh, and Mac plays the guitar in a pub called Cozy's. Not forgetting, Danny and Lindsay were together in the pub *squee*
Rough Sects? Who thought that one up? Mac plays in a band...What am I missing? I know Sinise does. Watching this on a re-run, I'm just about ready to slap Stella's boyfriend. His comments "The art is as beautiful as you are" are such corny, cheesy lines. OK, thinking it over, I can see why Mac might get out, have a life, play bass is a band on Wednesdays... So yeah, I actually believe that now. Musician, Painter, Softball... is there anything Danny can't do? Or did he only say that for Lindsay?
Now that brings me to the best bit in the episode... Danny and Lindsay date non-date innocent meet-up in a jazz club to mates sharing a drink... Just get together already!!!!! (This would be in upper case but tv.com doesn't let you).
I'm still a fan of the real CSI, but this show is just a lousy copy. This episode was so obvious! I knew it was the drummer who killed the guy the second I saw her. CSI: New York is just a bleak copy of the real CSI, and Gary Sinise does not have the warmth a male lead needs to have to make you interested in the show.
The only character that leaves me slightly intrigued is Danny. And what was those looks between him and Lindsey at the Jazz club? Are they hooking up?
Guess only time will tell. Anywas. This was not a surprising episode. Quite poor actually.
I loved this episode, the arrow killing was a great idea. The photographs formed by pieces of smaller photographs very cool. Also the guy with the glue very ingenious. I did not suspect at all of the photograph, so it was a good suspense. This was one of those episodes that make you sit and not get up from your chair until the end, no matter how many comercials they play. Great character developement, at the end we even see a side of one of the characters we did not know before, as well as a hint to maybe a future relationship between two other characters.
I thouroughly enjoyed this episode of CSi New York. It is great to see this franchise in such a different light to the other two. What strikes me as strange though is how for the second time in two weeks, one of the investigators find themselves directly linked to the initial crime scene. Now, my life must be a bit dull because I am never at an A-list murder, or a subway homicide, so what is it with these CSI's that attract murder magnetism??
Yes, it ties into the plot nicely, and yes it is TV, but sometimes you've gotta wonder whether the benefit of having a CSI written into that crime scene has, compared to the growing doubt that the viewer must come to possess after each concidental occurrence (recall the finale of season one also?).
Whatever the case, this episode was still high quality, more so for the interactions between fellow CSI's rather than the imaginative yet improbable storylines. If you have an hour spare some day, and you'd like a little sunshine in your day, give this episode a literal shot!!
This is definitely one of those shows that get better with each episode. The plots actually kept me guessing this time and there was enough character developement to keep the episode moving along quickly. It's great to see how well the team is working together, especially how they're bonding outside of the workplace. Mac playing at the jazz club? Awesome.
One of my favourite episodes? No. Would I watch it again? Sure.
Yes there are spoilers. Enough with the idiotic plots. The way they killed the poster guy was new but the idea that a rock bank on its way to a big break and their promoter would kill a man 24 hours before they are heard in front of music execs is bizarre.
They had the meeting set so killing the guy that was postering over their posters made absolutely no sense. It's cut throat - got it but you wait ten minutes for the guy to leave and do it right back to him. Not to mention his posters being ripped down was a huge forensic clue leading right to the killers.
Dumb! The artist killing because the party wasn't for him was equally stupid. Some famous NY billionaire not only bought but commissioned his art - that's the meat and potatoes for an artist and he can milk that PR for all it's worth instead he tries to kill him by sneaking a whopping crossbow out of a living room filled with people and no one notices.
The 'kills' were creative the rest of the story line was pure pap.
In this episode we get to know the characters private lives. I think that this is a nice idea, because we almost know nothing about them and this after more than one year. And it fallows the story of the last episode where we got some hints, for example from Lindsay Monroe.
So Stella visits an art show with her boyfriend. Sure with a dead one on the roof. I thought that was so unnecessary. But the way of the crime was quite nice - especially the circumstances. Nailed to the wall with the girl you’re just making out. Hilarious anecdote.
The second murder of this poster guy wasn’t anything special after all, but I think of it as a story pre-run for the final scene with Mac playing Jazz in a club and Lindsay proves again, that she’s smarter than most of the others on the team, but still is considered as the new girl.
The show is getting more personal than ever. So far I liked it, but I think the show will need some major blow up, a special case or whatever to stay interesting for the future.
Not the best they have ever done but a fine attempt. The arrow thing was nasty and so was the glue. The girl band from hell and their manager was kind of sad and weak. You always know who the bad guy is because they always have an attitude w/ the CSI guys.
