  • The story of the 333 stalker concludes with Mac finally getting the answers he has been searching for since the start of the season. A tragic incident which happened during Mac's childhood in his native Chicago comes back to haunt him.

I had a little trouble buying how the 333 stalker managed to remote pilot a subway train and also how he managed to smuggle a dead body into the Chicago Tribune building. Despite this big flaw I think this episode was very well done. The story certainly keeps you guessing from the beginning as to how it will resolve itself. The whole story of 333 is told in a way easy for the viewer to follow and is very plausible. I also think the change of scenery was a high point of this episode. Three cheers for Chicago!

  • One of my top five favorite episodes.

In this episode, Mac goes back to Chicago to track down the 333 stalker. He finds a body in the Tribune Building which eventually leads him back to New York City. Stella figures out that the 333 stalker is Drew Bedford. When they go to find him at his office, he is nowhere to be seen, so the team spreads out to look for him. While Mac is looking around the wine racks, Drew comes out of nowhere and hits Mac in the back of the head with a gun and knocks him out with some drug. When he wakes up, he is in a chair surrounded by lasers. The rest of the team works frantically to find him, and when they do, Drew ends up getting shot, but he doesn't die. The family has lost enough, Mac told Flack.
  • We learn who is the 333 stalker and the significance of the numbers 333.

First of all, I liked how the episode starts and ends. Very exciting.

It was a surprise to learn Drew Bedford - Stella's love interest this season - was the 333 stalker. I wasn't expecting him to be the stalker, but I did like Kerr Smith's portrayal of Drew because he showed how angry Drew was at the time.

My sympathies are with both Drew and Mac. Like Drew, I would have felt angry if my sibling was killed and my friend didn't do anything to prevent it because they were scared. Also, I would have felt scared to shoot someone, even if it is for self-defense.

In the end, I think it was wise for Mac to wound Drew and not kill him. A true hero wouldn't take another person's life. Also, Mac did make a point when he said at the end of the episode, "Not today. The family has already lost enough." It is true because Drew's family did lose enough already because his brother was already killed.

I think Drew went to far with his clues.
  • awesome episode

Everything from the previous episodes finally ties together and we find out who Mac's stalker is and why the numbers 333 are important. When Mac was young, he witnessed his friend get beaten to death and he couldn't pull the trigger of the gun to stop it. The younger brother of the one that died wanted revenge and set up an elaborate stalking plan to get Mac. He kidnapped Mac, but it turned out bad when his older brother turned up and got shot. This episode was great because it developed all of the character, especially Mac when we learned about his past. I also liked the guest characters in this episode - you couldn't help but feel bad for them. Overall, great episode with a great culmination of little clues in previous episodes.
  • In Chicargo, Mac is closer to finding out who the stalker was, Danny saves the day when Flack, Lindsay, Hawkes and Stella is trapped in the train(even though he has no clue of what had happened) and Stella figures out the identity of this stalker herself.

This is the continuation of the previous The opening scene of this episode is the best of all the Season 4 episodes shown in New Zealand so far. It got me worried when four of the five CSI's were trapped in the train. Danny, however came to their aid when he arrives at the main power supply, found something hard and threw it to the power supply. When the train stopped, I knew straight away that it has got to do with the numbers 333.

This episode really made me sit at the edge of my seat. And watching the previous episodes before this, it hits me that the guy who was stalking Stella, was really the guy who's link with the three numbers!! This is a great episode to watch.

While in Chicago, Mac uncovers more clues about his stalker and reveals his troubled past. Meanwhile, in New York the rest of the team is in danger. Now the hunt is on to figure out the identity of the 333 stalker before he kills Mac and the person who walks through the door to save Mac!

The mystery of the 333 stalker is revealed in spectacular fashion following clues from the previous episode - which I watched after this one! Long story...anyway, it really was a dramatic episode, very tense, very emotional. Mac is really involved in this one and it shows in his character.

Oh my god I absolutely loved this episode. CSI NY is freaking awesome but I think this episode made the show a bigger hit than what it already is. This episode had it all - the tension, the suspense, the drama and most importantly that family connection along with a connection to one of the CSIs. Flack looked hot just like he always does. My heart was pounding quite a lot during this episode especially during the subway part at the beginning and at the very end with Mac and Drew during the showdown scenes. This episode was definitely edge of the seat material. I didn't want it to end.
  • Its always the quiet ones

Mac has some secrets from his childhood that are brought to light in the conclusion to the 333 storyline and it turns out that it is always the quiet little ones you have to watch out for. And boy does Stella need to catch a break on men. After each episode, I like Flack and Hawkes more and more, these guys are becoming more integral to team and I am really liking their involvement more. It was great to see the team figure where Mac was being kept and and also work together to realize it was going booby trapped in order try to figure out how to get him out of there.
  • The 333 plot is revealed! I think Mike Enslin said it best upon walking into 1408 - "This is it??"

The 333 plot was brilliant. It was mysterious, exciting and was revealed at a perfect pace. Until this episode. I completely agree with MickeyDs4 who says this episode felt extremely rushed. 333 extended from the UK back to NYC over to Chicago and then back to New York and then well, it just sort of ends. I expected 333 to end in the season finale in a life and death fight on the top of the Statue of Liberty where the season began. That would have been so cool! Mick was bang on about the writers not wanting to leave 333 hanging there unfinished because of the strike. I think rather than ending it in ten minutes in a single episode they should brought it back in a TV movie like they did with Detective Mike Logan's character in Law and Order years ago. This episode, however, does not take away from the fact the rest of this season has been a smashing success. I look forward to the end of this strike so we can get back to more of this legendary season.
  • Great ending to the 333 stalker case lots of action and mystery all the way to the final confrontation. Macks trip to Chicago leads him to a dead body which happens to be the man who killed the brother of a childhood friend. Mack kept this

Great ending to the 333 stalker case lots of action and mystery all the way to the final confrontation. Macks trip to Chicago leads him to a dead body which happens to be the man who killed the brother of a childhood friend. Mack kept this secret from the police until events forced him to confide in the Chicago detective who was dispatched to the scene. Finding that Mack froze when he had a chance to save the victim from his childhood was surprising but it showed that Mack was a normal kid once like anyone else who would've done the same thing. It intensified how insane the stalker was who happened to be trying to woo Stella. That he'd hold such a grudge against Mack probably since he couldn't get the actual killer. Good episode with a great ending Mack leaving the guy alive to spare the family more trauma.
  • In this episode, Mac and the team finally gets to the bottom of the 3.33 mystery. The case brings Mac back to Chicago where he encounters another body. Trouble arises when Chicago PD starts to question Mac. Back at New York, the team pieces the puzzle.

I thought this episode was very well written. Very exciting in fact! I like the way they made Drew the "bad guy". However, I thought that bringing Mac to Chicago was useless because he found nothing there that he couldn't have been able to find in New York. After all, Drew WAS living in New York. I also think that they rushed this story line a bit. As quoted on the advertisement: "A mystery that will keep you guessing all season long."

This really contradicts the episode. The writers should have waited until the season was ALMOST over (episode 19 would be good) until they used this episode. Over all, this is one of those memorable episodes along with Snow Day, Charge of This Post, All Access among others.
  • A supremely satisfying episode.

This episode was full of excitement from the first minute. When Hawkes, Lindsay, Stella and Flack were trapped on the runaway train, I was yelling at my TV. Danny was the hero, just saving them from a train collision. It felt eerie to me when Flack pointed out the 333 in the train station. I loved how Mac revealed his troubled past to Flack. I didn't like the scene with Drew. Drew just wasn't a good bad guy to me. I just wanted him to shut up. LOL It was very exciting when the crew burst in and shots rang out. I didn't really feel like the crew was in danger and that's good because the episode was suspensful enough. I am so glad that the 333 stalker mystery is finally solved. It had been prolonged so much that I was antsy. :)

The 333-stalker story finds it end ion this chapter. I really liked how they wrote it and the final resolution. I like the beginning of the chapter with the team in the subway car and Danny running and 'saving' them...I was really concerned! I liked all the team working together and doing a great job. I enjoyed seeing Sinclair as one more of the time and not just a politic, he is a cop too! Stella has a horrible taste in men, but I luaghed a lot when Drew answers the phone 'Hey Baby'!!LOL! We don't have true D/L moments but at least they talk to each other and exchange a smile...

    In conclusion, great chapter!!
  • Just another well written episode.

Poor Mac was targeted for months for something that happened to him when he was young and the CSI crew finally pieced it together with all the running around the 333 dude put them through and the person was sitting right under there nose just like I suspected from the start. I know they had to go through this whole process before finding the guy behind it all for show purposes but I knew that guy drew was the one. Sometimes Heros have to go through something terrible that helps them be the hero they are in the future. But anyway this was a great episode with lots of twists I enjoyed the whole thing.
  • Finally some answers.

    9.1
    "Superb"
The beginning of the episode with the actual runaway train was cool, but I kept wondering why they'd stay standing while preparing for an impact. Sitting down and covering your head would make more sense...

Seeing the Chicago PD work was cool; not all out of town episodes need to be xovers (and please! no more Horatio in CSI NY!). I just hope they won't expand the franchise. Three CSI shows are more than enough. Detective Brennan was a good guest star with tough as nails attitude and brains. Mac was awesome. He looked haggard and tired, very believable in his situation. His oneliners weren't annoying, and it was great to have him reveal something from his past. I liked the way he didn't comment on Jimmy's jibe about living in NY and being married. Psychologically, the story of Mac freezing and not shooting someone as a kid is also interesting; how did that influence on his choice of career, both as a marine and a member of the NYPD? Also, as continuity, I wonder how this works with Danny and the Tanglewood angle. Maybe Mac can somehow relate to a foolish kid who ran errands to criminals...The subtlety of Sinise's acting was nice; Mac's expression as he walked out of the morgue was wonderful, showing that he did indeed know more than he was saying.

Jimmy telling Mac he looks like his old man... Awesome!

Having Flack join Mac in Chicago made my fangirlish heart flutter. The scenes where Mac was telling Flack about his past were well made, both the flashbacks and the present. Mac and Flack interaction was also very much in character. Mac called Flack Don more often in the episode than ever before, counting Charge of this Post. Nice. Flack only changed clothes one in this episode! A personal records, I'm sure. That first tie was hideous, but then again that's very much in character as well... The episode did feel a bit rushed, with the whole 9 episode long build up leading to this. The team was working hard, but the way Stella had her epiphany about Drew came kind of out of nowhere. It was also return to the good old let's explain everything instead of showing, hitting the viewer over the head with a two by four. Otherwise, I liked the way everyone (even Sid and Adam) had stuff to do here. Adam was adorable (adorkable?) as always.

Office politics with Sinclair showing up weren't jarring this time, though his decision to go in with Mac's team did sound overly... showy? Maybe it was a part of political play, to show he was still one of the boys, but it was annoying anyway. We all knew Drew was somehow shady, but whoa. I bet Stella will never date another man in her life... I think Mac went down a bit too easily, but the whole thing with the kidnapping was great. The parallel to him using the motion sensors in last season's finale was cool. Drew being old enough /Mac being young enough to be the same characters who knew as kids was kind of reaching, and the whole magnitude of Drew's plan was kind of out of proportion but otherwise the ending of he whole 333 storyline was okay.
  • The 333 storyline finally gets closure. (Possible Spoilers inside the Review!)

    Ok, I like this episode!

After the last ones of New York weren't their finest, this one was finally packed with action and it had the needed closing of the endless 333 story.

That Drew was the stalker was clear even before the episode aired. He was just too much on Stella that it was not smelling rotten and fishy. I liked the connection between the New York case and Mac in Chicago, although it had its flaws, but hey - this is Hollywood, I gave up complaining long ago... Ok, almost at least! ;)

My hero of the episode: NO, not Danny (ok, so he saved them...), BUT SINCLAIR! He showed that he is more than just a scumbag and he showed that he indeed is wearing a badge. He helped Mac and he wore that vest and that badge with honour. I like that the writers gave this to him.

Ok, poor Stella... I always thought I was "lucky" with guys, but looks like she has an even better hand at that! ;)

So, D/L fans - again - needed to do without a major development in their relationship, but I don't give up hope, not yet!

All in all: finally a really exciting episode again which made me roll my eyes a lot less!
  • 333 Stalker Here We Come.

Loved the intro with our train ride and Mac's trip to Chicago. Thankfully Mac's one-liners aren't as corny as another CSI detective we know. Detective Brennan has an attitude for a follow police officer. Sinclair definitely doesn't like being in the dark. Sinclair's veiled threat to Stella got some attention. Mac's meeting with his childhood friend Jimmy revealed a lot of information. I really appreciated Mac taking Don into his confidence about what happened that started this chain of events. It showed they were friends as well as colleagues. Lindsay and Stella figuring out Drew's connection was great. I loved watching Stella put the pieces of the puzzle together, excuse the pun. Sinclair going in with Mac sure surprised me. Drew is definitely pissed and not a fan of Mac's. Drew's desire for revenge is as lethal as his desire to hurt someone close to him. Mac's got to be the king of negotiations. Bringing Jimmy in to convince Drew to not got through with his plans was great. Smarter was having him wear a bulletproof vest. But Mac being classic Mac, didn't shoot to kill, knowing that the family had lost enough. We did have some amusement tonight. Adam's excitement over the MP3 capabilities was very amusing. The scene with him and Danny surfing hacking websites was also funny. Mac claiming he didn't know anything, personally for me is an oxymoron. Its official Hawkes has a new nickname, "Doc".
  • Mac goes to Chicago to figure of the Triple 3 stalker. Sinclair sends Flack after him. Danny does some heroic stuff in the beginning and the stalker stuff comes to an end in a suspenseful last few moments.

    "Good"
Not the best episode of the year or the entire show. I rank it up there with "Some Buried Bones." The start was awesome with the runaway train. But the farther into the episode we got the more mundane and overdone it got. I have known for awhile who the stalker was. It all made sense a few weeks ago. From what I read before going spoiler free after Boo, this was supposed to continue for a few more weeks. But I think they rushed it to get it out because of the strike. They (the writers/producers) didn't want to get stuck in a storyline that they may not get to finish. Smart of them story wise but for us zany viewers it was rushed. I still feel like there is more to this story than they are telling us. I'm just glad the whole thing is over and now we'll get to focus on other characters besides Mac for once. I get that Gary is the star but even on the other CSIs the secondary actors get some attention storywise. Support the WGA!!
