  • Allusions

    • Flack: Maybe our Lancelot had a rendezvous with Guinevere at the park?

Lancelot and Guinevere are recurrent character in Medieval romances. In the Arthurian legend, Sir Lancelot is one of the Knights of the Round Table. He is typically considered to be one of the greatest and most trusted of King Arthur's knights and plays a part in many of Arthur's victories. He is perhaps most famous for his affair with Arthur's wife Guinevere and the role he plays in the search for the Holy Grail.

    • The baby that Mac was talking about was actually only a 13 month old baby from Edmonton, Alberta. She managed to get out of her mother's home and was found sometime later by the distraught woman in the backyard of their home. The baby's toes were frozen together, her mouth was frozen shut (making it difficult for paramedics to put a breathing tube down her throat), her body temperature was 60.8 degrees.

    • At the end, Isabella says that she wanted to die by poison like Juliet from Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet.

However, Juliet didn't die from poison. She took a potion to pretend to be dead. Romeo thought she was dead and swallowed some poison to die. Juliet woke up and found Romeo dead and the poison bottle beside him. She tried to drink from the bottle, but there was none left in there. So she took Romeo's dagger and stabbed herself.

    • Mac: Progress was all right. Only it went on too long.

This saying is attributed to American cartoonist and humorist James Thurber (1894-1961).

    • Title: What schemes may come.

The title of this episode is an allusion to a famous line in William Shakespeare's play Hamlet Act 3, scene 1 ("To be, or not to be..."), namely, "For in that sleep of death what dreams may come / When we have shuffled off this mortal coil."
