It was noticeable even in it's first Season the pure genius of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Larry David still had a plethora of stand-up material to turn into sitcom gold. From the overuse of "personal reasons" to get away with anything, to Mike Duffy stealing the head chair to the caterer stealing the leftovers this show just brought something unique to the table and filled the void that had been created when Seinfeld left the airwaves.

Yet as strong as the show was it would become even better in later seasons. The awkwardness of the actors would be replaced with smooth, crisp improvisation and the storylines would be even more realistic yet feel even more natural.

This is still a tremendous half hour of television, but nowhere near the best episode in Curb history.moreless
