  • No one but Larry David could pull off tying together the storylines like this

While Chet's Shirt isn't necessarily one of the highest rated or popular episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm, it's one of my favorites, and in my eyes, one of the best examples of how Larry David can juggle four storylines and tie them together with finesse.

From the very beginning, with Larry throwing his apple into the neighbors garbage, right up until the very end, with the fight over the black and white shirt, Larry somehow finds a way to make everything connect with Chet's shirt. The episode gets its name from the dead husband of a family friend. Larry sees a picture of the woman's dead husband wearing a shirt he fancies and he tries to find out where he got it.

Meanwhile, the storyline that will eventually end up lasting the entire season arrives, with Larry teaming up with Ted Danson and a team of other people to help get a restaurant opened. He buys one of the shirts that looks like Chet for Ted as a gift, and two for himself as backups. Ted Danson also lets him know he's having a Wizard of Oz themed birthday party, and he wants him to be the Tin Man, which Larry just won't have.

Giving away key moments in the episode would be disappointing. It's best just to watch the episode and laugh away.
