  • Pretty solid premiere, but one huge plot point sort of makes this a surreal experience.

    After waiting so long for a new season, I think Larry David could've made an episode about watching paint dry, and it would come across as funny. However, as great as the interactions were between Larry and Jeff and the rest of the cast, there was something about Jeff sleeping with Funkhouser's crazy sister that seemed a little off. Even with some of the insane plots last season (Larry having his therapist fake-mug Cheryl's therapist to look like a hero?), this plot point seemed strange.

    That being said, there was still some classic moments. Larry, Leon and Loretta arguing over the temperature in the house was great, and the whole "taking food out of the refrigerator" thing was good too. I wasn't a huge fan of the actress who played Funkhouser's sister (was that Catherine O'Hara?), but she still did an okay job.

    Since the Seinfeld plot doesn't really kick in until three episodes, it was nice to see the way the seeds are planted for his idea, but for a season premiere, while not as strong as previous seasons, it wasn't too bad. At least we have Larry David and his neurotic self back on television.moreless

    Curb your Enthusiasm is back after a long wait for its fans and its safe to say it hasnt changed a bit, its still pretty, pretty, pretty good. Catherine O Hara was very funny. Loved the dinner party scene and I'm glad it didnt focus of the Sienfeld reunoin. Great comeback.moreless

  • Considering the fact that season 6 ended in a way that could completly change the future of curb I thought it was a great episode. Larry's dealing with his choice's of season 6 and I don't think he could have done any better than he did with this episode.moreless

    I thought it was great. Larry is the same way he was with seinfeld in the fact that he never knows if he'll be back for another season. With the ending of season 6, he really wrote it in a way where that it could be the end I mean look at how Seinfeld ended. So now with season 7 he has to deal with the blacks and get back with cheryl or completely change then show and stick with the blacks. So I think he really wrote him self into a corner as far as the plot goes because I know most of the dialouge is improvised. He either has to find a way to get larry back with cheryl or change the dynamic of the show completely by losing cheryl and sticking with the blacks. I really had know idea how he was going to continue season 7. Well from the looks of the first episode it looks as if larry wants out and may be on his way back to cheryl. I think the whole cancer thing is a great plot idea and sorta traps larry with blacks while still giving us great scenes with cheryl. I loved how he mentions to jeff he wants to break up with her and the end when he gets the news he collapsed I couldnt stop laughing. As usual the conversations between larry and jeff were hilarious. What really frustrates me is that I love cheryl. I find her conversations with larry are the most natural on the show besides larry and jeff. BUT I also find any scene with leon in it hysterical. I'm torn between the 2 because I know if larry gets back with cheryl we may lose leon. I hope he finds a way to keep larry with cheryl but not lose leon. I really loved cheryl and larrys talk at the end. You could really tell they missed each other before anything was said. Can't wait for the seinfeld part of the season. Cheryl wants the larry that worked on seinfeld in the day and came home at night. So what's larry gonna do? Ahhh what a great setup. It wasn't a perfect episode but for how season 6 ended and considering what he had to work with I think it was a great opener for season 7 and the subtle hint for the seinfeld reunion at the end was great. I've been watching Curb Since the beginning and this seinfeld season seems like a present from larry for having to watch this crap instead giving me more seinfeld...ha. All signs point to him getting back with cheryl but if he didnt that would change my interest in the show at all. I don't know what larry could do to make me stop watching.moreless

    Finally, after two long years, Curb Your Enthusiasm is back on TV. And it was a good episode (as opposed to most of Season 6). The awkward moments were there, the debates with the Blacks were great (Larry, you gots to sleep at 82, 82 minimum!) but some of the conversations dragged on for too long (see the whole lemonade business). I also felt that it was a bit of a reach for how some of the storylines got tied together (come on, Jeff sleeping with Marty's mental patient cousin? not happening).

    But I digress, because this was still a fun installment of Curb and it is definitely a good thing to have Larry David and company back on TV. And in two weeks, the Seinfeld reunion storyline begins!moreless

  • The seventh season begins with Larry attempting to break up with Loretta before the results of her biopsy come in (Because he does not want to care for her if it comes back positive.). Also, Larry has trouble with dinner party etiquette.moreless

    I'm disappointed Larry was not able to break up with Loretta before the tests results came back. Personally I would like to have seen the Blacks move on. They are not very strong characters and I think they have worn out their welcome. The story line concerning Murray Funkhauser's insane sister is the high point of this episode. Catherine O'Hara is hysterical and listening to Larry and Jeff in the car trying to justify Jeff's infidelity is a riot. Larry David is a comic genius. It's good that after six seasons "Curb Your Enthusiasm" still delivers very well written scripts.moreless
