    This was a "mockumentary" about Larry David considering a return to stand-up comedy. The situations were acted (most not scripted), just like the series is. This was a great set up for the forthcoming sitcom. I never saw this hour long pilot until I purchased season 1 on DVD. It wasnt as gi=ood as a typical Curb Your Enthusiasm episode but you can see what elemenst of the show were left in. I liked the ending where Larry David pulled out of the gig. The part with Jeff cheating was funny as well becuase what Jeff is like in the show. A great 60 minute taster of a great sitcom.moreless

    This mocumentary starts with Larry and David pitching the idea for a show, and features countless cameos and interviews about Larry and his supposed Stand-Up incompetance. The stuff with Caroline Rhea was pretty funny and the improv comes across really well. The interviews throughout the episode are somewhat distracting, and I found them pulling me out of the episode. The whole situation with Larry's wife thinking he's cheating was pretty hilarious. I found there were a few too many seinfeld references, many of which missed their marks and seemed to be dropped just for the sake of referencing it. I also didnt like the whole cancelling of the show angle.moreless

    This HBO special precedes the series and shows the comedy of Emmy winner Larry David who was originally a comedian in New York city. This is a mocumentary that show the funny situations, people, and material that Larry has to go though in his efforts to do an HBO comedy special.
