    Well, that was a fun and unexpected surprise. I tuned in expecting to see the master of the low-rated drama series, Christian Slater (My Own Worst Enemy, the forgotten) but we got Philip Baker Hall (Bookman from Seinfeld) as well.

    The episode was funny, but not quite as good as the three prior installments this season. We got no resolution on the Meg Ryan issue, and no further involvement of the Seinfeld storyline as well. Even Curb's weaker storylines are better than just about any other comedy so while this was only average by Curb standards it was still a good episode.moreless

    Larry makes an enemy of Christian Slater at Ted and Mary's anniversary party and runs into an ex-girlfriend who shows renewed interest in him. Meanwhile, Larry's doctor gives him his personal number and soon regrets it. A funny episode as usual for Curb your enthusiasm but easily the weakst episode to date of the 7th season. Slater should have been used more here felt he was wasted. The episode went back to season ones type of episode compared to the newer more ruder and shocking episodes from season 6 and season 7. But because of the Slater Cameo and the scene were Laryy is shouting "Shut the Blank up" I give it a 9.moreless

    While not as powerful as the first three of the season, Larry David still found a way to offend some more people, as well as find another way to annoy Ted Danson and his family. I think following an episode containing the Seinfeld cast with an episode that doesn't made this one feel not as great as it was.

    First off, I didn't understand why the episode was named "The Hot Towel" until the very end.. To me, it felt like such an inconsequential event that it didn't warrant being named after. However, in time, Larry David proves to us that he can take two entirely different events and connect them in the end. In the middle of it all, we see Larry turn Christian Slater from an acquaintance to a full blown enemy, and although Slater doesn't get too many lines, his caviar bit, as well as his role in the final scene, was superb. It's nice when Curb can get some good famous actors to play roles in the show (Ben Stiller, David Schwimmer). It gives us a peek into how other actors might deal with a Larry David of this magnitude.

    There were some parts I wasn't a fan of, such as the doctor storyline (even though it was cool to see Philip Baker Hall on the show) but Larry hating the sound of the human voice made up for it, especially when he woke up at Jeffs house cursing and screaming for Sammy to shut up.

    Overall, this episode was not bad. Definitely not the strongest, but still chockful of laughs.moreless
