Pretty good ... pretty, pretty, pretty good.

This week sees Larry get into trouble with a friend who is deaf, firstly through comments translated into sign courtesy of Susie and then through inadvertant hand gestures to both his deaf friend and her husband.

He also finds himself the object of some unwanted attention from the Greene's exterminator who manages, in very classic Curb style, to get himself out on a date with Larry to go and see a school production of Grease.

This was another decent episode, although personally I felt not up to the standard of the previous episodes in this series. There was certainly some good Curb style humor, and Dion's conversation with Larry's friend was amusing but just something was lacking to make this a CYE classic.moreless

A great episode, very funny

"Perfect"

This episode is by far the best of the season, extremely funny and very well developed, the story is about a rat dog, a deaf woman, a grease play, and a big misunderstanding, which makes this episode a ver special one, the best since The Doll. All characters in this episode shine, and introduces new ones, Tim Meadows is very funny as Hal, the husband of the deaf woman, Larry David has renewed himself after the terrible Lefty Call and some not so good episodes, but thankfully this episode finally comes back to the embarassing comedy the show is famous for.moreless

"Great"

Warning. Spoilers ahead.

There's a point early in the show that is so obviously a set-up for a later joke that I was slightly disappointed in Larry David's plot craftsmanship. Once Leon has remarked that his cell phone is the same as Larry's, we know that there will be some mix-up later in the show. When it does happen, it's the beautiful execution of the embarrassing conversations that causes the comedy, not necessarily the shock of the mix-up.

On the other hand, Larry can still surprise. I must admit that I hadn't made the link between the description of the dog as a rat and the appearance of Mike, the exterminator. The final scene, with people screaming "Rat" and Mike killing the dog, is in the best tradition of CYE.

The toaster scenes were quite lame, but I presume this annoyance prepares the break-up of Larry and Cheryl.moreless
