Buzz and Delete, posing as a delivery person, replace Motherboard's cryoxide with green sludge. When Digit arrives she is overheated and is getting worse fast. He discovers the goop where the coolant should be and when the kids arrive he tells them that if Motherboard doesn't get fresh cryoxide soon her CPU will melt. They find a container a little taller and almost as wide as the coolant tank, and Matt and Inez leave with it in Dr.Marbles new two-seater cybercoupe. Jackie stays to help Digit look after Motherboard, wearing one of the helmets Matt brought with him from batting practice to protect herself from the debris flying out of Motherboard's circuits as they heat up.
When the coupe lands at Blue Falls Castle, Matt and Inez find the door guarded by the gnome theyu met on their previous visit to Castleblanca. They don't notice Buzz and Delete crash-landing in the moat, hacing been sent by Hacker to ensure they don't succeed in saving Motherboard. To their surprise, two-headed Sam, the piano player, proves to be the owner of the cryoxide-production system. He explains that cryoxide is widely prized that he has orders backed up and can't spare anythings for Motherboard, who "already got her delivery". The kids appeal to his better nature, and convince him to fill their container, but he warns them that he will not give them more if they return. Buzz and Delete, listening from above, are immersed in cryoxide as two-headed Sam fills the reservoir and unable to interfere with the coupe's departure.

When the Cybersquad removes the green goop and pour the jug of cryoxide into Motherboard's coolant tank, the tank becomes only one third full. After felling brief relief, Motherboard begins to overheat even more quickly than before, and the casing blows off the tank. The Cybersquad discovers the coolant tank to be much longer than the container they used to collect cryoxide, and realize that this difference in dimension accounts for the difference in volume. They don't have any single container big enough to hold sufficient coolant, but realize that they can get the amount they need by emptying the sludge back into the tank and using the bottles and jars that held it to hold cryoxide instead. Matt and Inez go back to Blue Falls Castle in Castleblanca.

Despite the emergency, two-headed Sam flatly refuses to give Motherboard any more cryoxide. As Matt and Inez leave the castle, Buzz and Delete find an exit from the reservoir. They end being washed out on a wave of coolant and landing in the cybercoupe. When they open the door, the bottles and jars are in turn washed out of the coupe to break on the ground. The kids don't see Buzz and Delete, but they do find they broken glass and realize they have no way to measure of cryoxide they need, even if they could persuade two-headed Sam to give it to them. Just then, the gnome appears and tells them that because he understands how urgent the need is, he will give them cryoxide, but only exactly as much as Motherboard needs.

Inez realizes that they can use the coupe as a container--if it held the jars and the jars held the right amount of liquid, then it will hold more than enough. It occurs to Matt that if they put one measure of cryoxide in the coupe for every measure of sludge Jackie is wearing, they decide to use the helmets as scoops. In short order they have enough cryoxide in the coupe, and take off the Control Central. Buzz and Delete, in the process of attempting to shut off the flow of the cryoxide, manage to get themselves sucked into the pool from which it is drawn, then flung back out and into the moat. They are once again in no position to prevent the kids departure.
