Playing with some new sounds recorded at the zoo from a whale, Da Mob play it too loud and a whale passing by in a transport helicopter gets excited and falls to the ground. Sir Hamsta parlays the notoriety into a recording contract.
Desperate to prove to the world that their arch-rivals, the Acafellas, are lip-syncers, Da Mob sneak into their concert dressed as girls, only to have Rooster chosen as a special backstage guest to the Acafellas.
Da Mob take over Wanda's store, when Wanda has to leave on an emergency. Rooster, strangely drawn to the Britney Spears-like Melanie Spores, is trapped when it turns out she has an in-store concert, which he must be at.
Rooster, in an attempt to gain street cred by doing charity work, takes on the role of a big brother to an awkward child. Things go awry when the young boy becomes an even better rapper than Rooster.
Rooster banishes JT and Tom from the band. Each coming up with an act on their own (Tom lip syncing a la Milli Vanilli; JT writing songs for Tara's band; Rooster going it solo), they all do battle at a local talent contest.
Rooster, clearly not with the Christmas spirit, kicks Tom and JT out of the band, and enters a local Christmas rap concert by himself… when Tupac shows up as the ghost of Christmas Past to change his attitude.
Tara uses a phony connection to the radio station to work her way in as manager of Da Mob. When Rooster refuses to do what she says, she kicks him out of the band.
