I think it's hillariously funny and well worth watching. The best episodes are those in series 3 to 6 because they were in colour, and featured Walker.

A Big Dad's Army fan here, have all the ep's on DVD plus all the specials and the movie they did, i know things cannot last forever but i do wish Dad's Army was still around along with the other great 60's 70's TV com's like Steptoe and Son, It Ain't Half Hot Mum, Geroge and Mildred, On the Buses, Porridge, Open All Hours, Rising Damp, In Sickness and In Health, and Till Death Do Us Part to name just a small selection of my personal favourites.

ITA, great talent, great writers. Hollywood United FC, led by Steve Jones (ex-Sex Pistol)calls his team that -but the joke is lost on so many Americans.

John Laurie and John Le Mesurier are GODS!

I'm only 19 but i grew up watching tapes of Dad's Army and it's still one of my favourite comedies. I had all the episodes on VHS (til i wore them out) and now i've got them all on dvd. I'd much rather watch older sitcoms than the stuff that passes for comedy these days.

Dad's Army is so good! My grandpa is so much like Sergent Wilson so that makes it funnier for our family!

"now i've got them all on dvd" Same here the BBC at there best and the best one for me is the one where they have to dress up as the Nazi soldiers but Captain Mainwaring won't take part as he can't get in to an officers uniform. and Arthur Lowe was a master of the facial expression the keep young and beautiful was proof of that, and no mater what episode you watch there is somthing that makes you giggle

Gotta agree there about every episode being great - each one makes you laugh. I recently got every episode as well, all of the DVD's came in a sort of fake munitions box and it also had a Dad's Army beanie as well
