Daigunder

Show Summary

Daigunder, a mecha-heavy science fiction adventure anime series, has joined the lineup of the ABC Family cable channel, where it will be shown on both Saturdays and Sundays at 9:30 am (ET, PT) starting on September 13. Produced by NAS for TV Tokyo, Daigunder is a 39-episode, kid-friendly, mecha-based series that aired in 2002 in Japan. Daigunder more or less replaces the frenetic and highly inventive Tokyo Pig series, which unfortunately never got the ratings it deserved here in the States. The popular Beyblade series, based on the high-tech spinning top toys from Hasbro, remains the anchor of the ABC Family anime offerings. Beyblade will continue on both weekdays and weekends, while its companion from last year, Medabots will only be around for weekend duty. The Digimon series will join Beyblade for a daily anime block starting at 7am (ET, PT) and will be shown twice (at 7am and 10am) on the weekends. Takara has produced a cool series of Daigunder toys in Japan. If the series generates any heat, look for Hasbro to release Daigunder mecha figures here in the U.S.moreless

  • A great, overlooked series!

    7.7
A lot of the stuff seems familiar in this. It has similarities to Transformers, Pokemon, and Megaman, but has its own distinctness. Yeah, it seems like another robot battle show (actually I've hardly seen any) but this one has some great adventures and the robots are likeable--not to mention that they've been programmed with human emotion and smarts. While they hardly have many villains, Gizno's pretty good. Diagunder and he prove to have a fair number of similarities that make it interesting. All in all, a pretty good action cartoon that just didn't get that much attention.moreless
  • Another pretty good robot battle show.

    6.7
This show is a lot like many other shows in its genre. It has the same basic plot lines, but different episodes and characters. The series has a few very likeable ones, and at the same time the episode plots are well thought out and quite good. The battle scenes are the basic fare, while the mystery the show holds is worth watching for. The robots are fun, but the humans lack the certain something that makes the other in different shows so enjoyable, and endearing. On the plus side the final bad guys that appear are a treat to any fan of the genre.moreless
  • HE is worried that prinsiple Hyde will not want her to be the School Captain. Seb tries to support her and tells her there is nothing Hyde can do about it anyway as long as she gets enough votes.moreless

HE is worried that prinsiple Hyde will not want her to be the School Captain. Seb tries to support her and tells her there is nothing Hyde can do about it anyway as long as she gets enough votes, because that only means everyone want her to be the School Captain. They tells him and Seb that she has lost the baby.
