Roy Marsden stars as Commander Adam Dalgliesh in this series based upon the novels of P.D. James. Each of the stories was based on a novel written by P.D. James. Ten of the Dalgliesh novels were made by ITV: 01) Cover Her Face (1962) 02) A Mind To Murder (1963) 03) Unnatural Causes (1967) 04) Shroud For A Nightingale (1971) 05) The Black Tower (1975) 06) Death Of An Expert Witness (1977) 07) A Taste For Death (1986) 08) Devices And Desires (1989) 09) Original Sin (1994) 10) A Certain Justice (1997) There are a further three novels: 11) Death In Holy Orders (2001) 12) The Murder Room (2003) 13) The Lighthouse (2005) After Roy Marsden left the role in 1998, the BBC produced two further stories Death In Holy Orders (2003) and The Murder Room (2005), which both starred Martin Shaw as Adam Dalgliesh.

  • Dalgliesh blew past my expectations. At first, I had expected same old same old plot development but twist after turn of excitement and action just way exceeded my expectations.

Dalgliesh blew past my expectations. At first, I had expected same old same old plot development but twist after turn of excitement and action just way exceeded my expectations. Mind you, there were some problems (most discontinuity issues) that I don't have the time to mention but all in all, a solid 9.
