The test to see if Christopher's methane would work or whether it would fail was entertaining, even if the race sequence dragged on a bit too long, but the way they handled JR's death was such a letdown. His scene was clearly chopped together from something else, and no matter how they spin the death, it won't do that iconic character any justice.
But still a good episode.
After John Ross and Sue Ellen successfully get control of Ewing Energies, Bobby enlists the help of his brother Gary (guest star Ted Shackelford), leaving the family in a Mexican standoff. Meanwhile, Pamela finds herself caught between John Ross and Christopher, resulting in a winner-take-all car race.

This is the first ever episode of "Dallas", both of the original and reboot series, for which Larry Hagman did not film scenes and also the last to feature J.R. Ewing in original footage. This episode and subsequent episodes of the season had to be rewritten after Hagman's sudden death in November 2012, with leftover footage featuring J.R. being edited into this episode.
