There are probably a lot of people who have never seen nor even heard of the show Dallas. There are probably fewer who can actually claim to have seen this episode, but everyone has heard these three infamous words that made Dallas into a Pop Icon... "Who Shot J.R.?".

That phrase alone shows how great it was. Years after the show has gone off the air, people who have never even seen it still remember it. Besides giving the show Icon status, it turned a floundering show around, and drew millions of viewers to tune in the next season.moreless

This episode would become the pivitol moment in \"Dallas\" history. Not only did this episode establish the \'cliffhanger\' in television drama, it singlehandedly catapulted \"Dallas\" to straospheric heights of popularity. The episode is expertly paced and of course ended with the scene that left everyone asking \'Who Shot J.R.?\" - and with the summer\'s actors and writers strikes the world had to wait 8 long months to find out the answer in episode #58 \"Who Done It?\"moreless
