Dalziel: Justice has gone to hell, Peter. Pascoe: There was a time when I would have argued with you, Andy.
Reporter 1: Are you happy with the verdict? Pascoe: No comment. Reporter 2: As the officer in charge do you feel you've failed the dead boys? (Pascoe is silent then Dalziel comes through the crowd). Dalziel: No comment.
Mr Marley: Marley. Dalziel: First name Jacob? This is an allusion to Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, where Jacob Marley used to be Ebenezer Scrooge's business partner before his death. Appropriately, Mr. Marley in this episode appears to be rather unpleasant fellow, hence Dalziel's Dickensian quip.
