While Patty concentrates on Daniel Purcell's murder case, Ellen and Tom travel to West Virginia to do research on the case against Ultima National Resources. This episode really did develop this season story and it was a very intresting and gripping episode. Purcell really did kill his wife who would have thought that, well when I say kill I mean he contributed to it. The season has had s think he has killed her then we thought he didnt now he actually did, crazy for all that to happen in four episodes. This episode of Damages is one of my favourites so far. 9.5 out of 10.moreless

Let's be honest, the first fifteen minutes of this episode were not great. They featured discussions about bluegrass music and Daniel talking to his daughter. But about halfway through the show things picked up and we got the Damages we've come to know and love.

Just when you were able to piece the puzzle together they throw a huge swerve with Daniel Purcell working with UNR, and possibly killing his own wife. Without a doubt one of the best twists a show not titled Lost has done in a long, long time.

The Josh Restin character is also beginning to intrigue me and I cannot wait to see where this leads. One question: Where is Wes? That's two straight episodes without him.moreless

  • Did not see that coming. Review after the jump, just as soon as I figure out just how evil and nefarious William Hurt really is…

Patty concentrates on Daniel Purcell's murder case m which she wins when she finds Kevin Walker, the man who pawned Daniel's ring mentioned in the last episode. Ellen and Tom travel to West Virginia to do research on the case against Ultima National Resources, and run into the journalist Restin, who gives them a sample of the contaminated water he swiped in the last episode. Ellen sneaks it out of town and into Daniel and Patty's hands to be tested. Well it turns out to be all for naught, since Daniel is as contaminated as that water supply as in dirty, as in he helpedorchestrate the frame up against Kevin Walker in cahoots with UNR, and keeeeled his wife! More Thoughts on 'Hey, Mr. Pibb!': - Well they definitely answered a lot of questions and sent this show in another direction. - When I hoped last week that the pacing would pick up, I didn't think it would be this fast! I think this episode was just well paced, and so strong in comparison.
    - Darrell Hammond as the enforcer was bizarre and almost comical, it really took me out of the episode, I was waiting for him to launch into one of his impressions from SNL.
    - Hurt was sooo much better this week, but that might be because he finally has a more interesting purpose (that I'm only now aware of).

Bottom Line: I would run and hide if I were Purcell. I imagine hell hath no fury like a Patty scorned. Next week: Patty's attention shifts, and suspicions fall on Ellen. More at www.theplurp.commoreless
