Patty gives Tom an advance of his next two weeks salary and discusses how she wants him to stay in contact with Ellen and work the relationship. Meanwhile, Arthur is having a conversation with his wife, Holly, about the ongoing stress the case is putting on their family. Holly wants Arthur to pay whatever amount the employees want and make it go away.
A meeting takes place at Hewes & Associates with their clients in the Frobisher case. Patty asks for time to find out what information the new witness has. Frobisher is in a meeting of his own with his lawyer, Ray Fiske. Arthur asks about the possibility of getting a divorce and how damaging Katie's testimony would be.
Katie shows up at Hewes & Associates to meet with Patty. Patty sends Ellen on to a client meeting meaning she will not be with Katie when she meets with Patty. At the meeting, Patty accuses Katie of lying about her timeline in the Frobisher case.
Back in the present day, the crime scene investigators are processing Ellen and David's apartment. They have only one suspect at this time and it is Ellen.
Katie calls Ellen looking for help. She does not know what to do now that Patty has accused her of lying and cut her loose. Ellen tells Katie to go back to the apartment and she will meet with her later. As Katie enters the subway, we see the man that has been stalking Katie at the restaurant watcher her and making a call on his cell phone to Frobisher. The stalker meets with Frobisher and they discuss a permanent solution to the problem.
Tom Shayes and Patty meet again to discuss Katie's story. Patty's biggest concern is how she was able to show up for work ten minutes before being pulled over by the police for running a red light. She knows that Ray Fiske is digging for more information on Katie and Patty wants to know what it is. Patty tells Tom to dig into Katie's past and find out whatever there is to hide
Frobisher is having sex with a prostitute in the back of his car. After finishing, he takes a snort of cocaine from the girl and then calls the stalker and tells him to go ahead with the plan to take care of Katie permanently.
Tom Shayes meets with an unknown man and gives him a file on Ellen and David. The man tells Tom that his associates will look into it and that he has done work for Patty in the past and knows what she wants.
Back at Hewes & Associates, Ellen confronts Patty about Katie's testimony. Ellen leaves without much of an explanation from Patty. Ellen then meets with Mr. Nye and they talk about how he was right about Patty Hewes.
Patty talks to her husband about charges their son has made on their credit card. Meanwhile, Tom shows up at the office to clear out his office and try to continue his relationship with Ellen.
Katie is being followed by a man that we had previously seen close a knife rather ominously. The man pulls out the knife and opens it. Before he can attack her, Katie confronts him and makes a big enough scene to draw a crowd. She accuses him of being the one to kill her dog and he runs off.
Katie then takes the newly signed confidentiality agreement and throws it in the face of ray Fiske. Once Frobisher gets the message he tries to call off the hit on Katie. He then shows up at Katie's restaurant to express his appreciation. Katie then meets with Patty again and admits to lying and vows to come clean. Katie tells Patty that she had become pregnant in Florida but that she did what she had to do.
Patty talks to Ellen and offers her the keys to an apartment. Patty had heard she was looking for a place and tells her she got a great deal.
Katie shows up for another meeting with patty and she gives her a new dog. Patty asks only one thing, no more secrets. Meanwhile, David and Ellen check out their new apartment and are surprised at how big it is. The episode ends with a shot of Ellen looking at David's dead body and dropping the murder weapon from her hand.
