Last week, I saw the first hour of "Dancing With thge Stars," this week I saw the first hour of the show before moving over to "24." but I was happy with the performance of Leeza gibbons, even though she is at the botton of the leaderboard, I still support her 100%. I'm backing Leeza, I don't care what the audience thinks. the biggest highlight which i saw later, involving heather Mills smart flip that impressed me, But getting back to what I was saying. I love "Dancing with the Stars," it's better than "American Idol." And despite the flip from Mills, I'm still in the corner of Leeza Gibbons.moreless
  • I just simply enjoy this show !

Joey & Kym .. QuickStep = I love Joey's personality which is why he is another fav. I thought they used the floor very well. Loved the footwork Joey really plays the crowd. I have to agree with Carrie Joey is the whole package. Laila & Maks . . Mambo = Another personal fav. Going into this I though Laila would be the best at the mambo I thought she would give it just the right amount of attitude and sex appeal. I wasn't disappointed. Great hip action, really made use of the floor space. AWESOME. The judges agree with me. Ian & Cheryl . . Quickstep = (Ian's Dad was so cute) Ian's one of my personal favs Much more relaxed. I couldn't put my finger on it initially but the judges put the words in my mouth too "skippy". But I thought it was good.
Apolo & Julianne. . Quickstep = Great footwork - - Strong arms - - excellent - - duct tape on bottom of his shoes would keep in from slipping. Though I agree with the judges pretty high score for first couple of the night.
Shandi & Brian . . Mambo = It was ok footwork was better. Lots her spots and seemed uptight and unsure. I think they have GREAT chemistry. Judges right on.
Leeza & Tony . . Mambo = (Happy Birthday Leeza) Leeza can't shimmy she needs to loosen her shoulders. Agreed with the judges needs to let the bad girl out. John & Edyta . . Quickstep = Charisma perfect description of John. Beginning was rough smoothed out as the danced progressed. I love John's smile. They are very much the crowd pleaser. I agree with the judges comments but I would have done 8s versus 7s.
Billy Ray & Karina . . Quickstep = Billy Ray could only improve from last week, I think improve he DID. I agree with Carrie Most Improved. Unfortunately, still think he's going to be the first one sent home.
Paulina & Alec . . Mambo = No Bad I would compare her to Leeza to a certain degree in not letting the bad girl out to play. Definite A for effort. Needed to relax a little bit more. Judges were pretty much on the mark. If Billy Ray doesn't go home it maybe Paulina.
Heather & Jonathan . . Mambo = I don't like how they are giving so much focus on her disability. As much as I hate to admit it, her dancing skills are growing on me. I was pretty impressed with her abilities and it had nothing to due with her disability. Judges are definitely fans just hoping it's based on dancing and not the pity card. Heather definitely wouldn't appreciate. Clyde & Elena . . Quickstep = Better. Clyde seemed to have jelly arms in some spots but overall I thought it was good, much better footwork from last week. Thought the judges score was right on. They are a definite crowd favorite. My pick for the first elimination would be either Billy Ray, Edyta maybe Clyde depending on how the fans vote. My pick for the final three would be Joey, Laila or Ian.moreless

This is the second performance show and the first before someone is kicked off as the shows will only get even better. Loved to see the interaction between the dancers and the novices aka the big stars. Judges can be funny as well though they aren't American Idol material. Still, they are fun to listen to.

  • QUOTES (13)

    ADD QUOTES
    • Leeza Gibbons: I love the Mambo. I love it because it's fast, and it's attitude, and it's sexy.

    • Clyde Drexler: (regarding Elena Grinenko) I think she's a great dancer, but her basketball skills need a little improvement.

    • Elena Grinenko: Clyde is really quick on his feet. I wanted to go to a basketball court so he can actually show me his footwork so I could use that for our quickstep.

    • Shandi Finnessey: I realize that with 5 days of training, I've got to shed all of these insecurities and anxieties about doing the Mambo because when I get out there, I have got to be the sexy Mambo diva.

    • Shandi Finnessey: I am taller than Brian, I am older than Brian, so I kind of like boss him around and pick on him a little bit.

    • Apolo Anton Ohno: My quickstep has to be spot on because I would never live it down if I was the first one to go.

    • Julianne Hough: I think Apolo just really responds to strict discipline and so I sometimes just have to yell at him and he's like 'woah, okay she's serious, let's go, let's do it.'

    • Apolo Anton Ohno: Julianne might look really sweet and innocent, which she is, but when it comes to dancing, she's the boss. Sometimes in training, I honestly feel like I'm being tortured.

    • Julianne Hough: I think Apolo's natural strength is that he's very quick on his feet and he's fun. We have lots of chemistry together and it's kind of like a brother and sister type of relationship.

    • Bruno Tonioli: (talking to Leeza Gibbons after her performance) You did a proper Mambo, but like a debutante on a first date. Forget that. You should be a tramp. Let the tramp out.

    • Shandi Finnessey: It's hard for me to be like, 'Hello, strange man I've only known for three weeks. Let me rub up all over you.

    • Carrie Ann Inaba: (to Apolo Anton Ohno after his performance) You are the surprise of the season to me. You've had the least amount of training.

    • (During Billy Ray Cyrus and Karina Smirnoff's practice) Billy Ray Cyrus: I'm just extremely depressed right now. Karina Smirnoff: Why? Billy Ray Cyrus: Cause I suck! (later) Karina Smirnoff: So, one slow equals two quicks. Billy Ray Cyrus: Where I come from, one slow does not equal two quicks. I don't get it. Karina Smirnoff: I see that. Move, move, move, move! Billy Ray Cyrus: I haven't done anything quick in fifteen years!
