  • Very impressive...

I was really impressed with this episode. Apollo and Julianne and Laila and Maksim are my favorites and they were tied in first place. I really liked both of their dances, but I liked Apollo's more. I wasn't impressed with Heather's dance though. It was really boring and over dramatic. I used that time to go get ice cream (lol). Billy Ray and Karina were alright, but I expected more. Joey's dance was good - I enjoyed that dance. I don't care for Ian and Cheryl. They get on my nerves - I'm not sure why. Jon and Edyta continue to amaze me. I can't believe they lasted this long. I really liked how they danced together at the end. I liked the preview of their rehearsal. Seeing Apollo fall on his face when trying to jump over Julianne was hilarious! I also liked how Laila threw a fit and exclaimed that she better be lifting one of these guys because they weren't going to be able to lift her.moreless

  • QUOTES (8)

    • (Some comments during the Group Swing practice)
Cheryl Burke: Can you do that?
Ian Ziering: Can you do that?
John Ratzenberger: Give me something hard to do!
Christian Perry: This is the all American dance, so the most important thing is that you have fun! Let me ask this, who's the strongest guy here? (Laila raises her hand, the rest laugh)
Julianne Hough: It's nice to see everyone's personality come out.
Christian Perry: It's time for the no hold barred part! It's time for lifts!
Ian Ziering: How do we all do this on the same dance floor and not get hurt?
Laila Ali: Ain't nobody flipping me so, I must be flipping one of these guys!
Billy Ray Cyrus: As long as I'm standing here and they do their thing over there, I'm fine.
Apolo Anton Ohno: Man, look at Joey and Kym over there. If I could only be as masculine as that guy.
Billy Ray Cyrus: But if I'm on the floor, I'm going to mess up the whole number.
Joey Fatone: Laila, you get a ten for being beautiful and fantastic.
Kym Johnson: Max, you get a one.
Maksim Chmerkovskiy: At least I don't look like a girl
      Joey Fatone: Hey man!
Laila Ali: I wouldn't say that!
Maksim Chmerkovskiy: Hey! You gotta be...
Laila Ali: I was just joking!
Christian Perry: Anything can happen this dance, it's extremely risky and dangerous.
Laila Ali: They think I'm rough, Julianne is rough!
Ian Ziering: She's so light on her toes, but today she was so heavy on mine.
Christian Perry: This could be either fantastic or a disaster!
Kym Johnson: It's nice to perform as a group, but when we have our solo move, watch out!

    • (During their rehearsals)
Apolo Anton Ohno: Someone described the Rumba to me as the woman's bedroom dance. It's up close, very sexy. Julianne and I, we have this brother sister type relationship, so it's going to be a little weird this week.
Julianne Hough: What was that? That was not sexy and romantic and sensuous. This week is our biggest challenge yet - we have two dances now and I got sick.
Apolo Anton Ohno: We are going to do our best to make sure that we hold on to that top spot.

    • Karina Smirnoff: After receiving real harsh criticism from the judges last week, this week I'm going to tailor my choreography so Billy Ray feels really comfortable.
Billy Ray Cyrus: That's funny! We gotta do that! I'm not the best dancer out there, but I'm working really, really hard.
Karina Smirnoff: This week I don't want Billy Ray to worry about the feet and doing it properly. I just want him to have fun and enjoy himself.
Billy Ray Cyrus: Karina has labeled one of my moves Who's Your Daddy. So I guess we've got a couple Who's Your Daddies in there.
Karina Smirnoff: I'm not going to sugar coat it, you're leading with the heel!
Billy Ray Cyrus: I don't want you to sugar coat it! All right, everybody, let's rock the house.

    • (Judges comments on Laila and Maksim's Cha Cha)
Len Goodman: Well, I'll tell you what, Laila. There's a saying that all that glitters isn't gold. That was pure gold. If I'm honest about it and I'm gonna be honest, I can't tell a lie, your bit at the end wasn't really my cup of tea.
Bruno Tonioli: It was funky! It was sexy!
Tom Bergeron: Isn't it stunning that Len didn't get the funky?
Bruno Tonioli: You're turning into a magnificent obsession. You are stunning! Curves! Delicious! It was a bit of Tina Turner at the end. I loved it!
Carrie Ann Inaba: I'm gonna agree with Bruno. That was fantastic. I love your hair down, I love your wild. I have one note for you, eyes up when you dance. I loved it!

    • Laila Ali: I was happy to get my ten and my two nines. Now we just have to step it up a notch so we can get all tens.
Maksim Chmerkovskiy: This week, we're doing the Cha Cha. The Cha Cha's very cheeky. You know like...cheeky. Your kind of dance.
Laila Ali: You better appreciate this!
Maksim Chmerkovskiy: I'll appreciate it when you get more than one ten.
Laila Ali: That's my point. We need to put on a show. When I first came to this show, I told Max I would do whatever he told me to do. Now that it's gotten tougher, so I need to add my own flavor. You need to get funky, Max!
Maksim Chmerkovskiy: I will get funky like you have no idea!

    • (Judges' commenting on John and Edyta's Mambo)
Carrie Ann Inaba: It was cute! You looked like a little dancing teddy bear. Like you're a little kid and you do your little moves, you're right on the beat most of the time. You had a bit of problems with the footwork, but you brought the joy back to your dancing.
Bruno Tonioli: When I first saw you, I didn't think you were into this show at all. But the joy came out in this performance, the only problem was that the actual routine was terrible. I mean, he came out like a duck!
Len Goodman: You've been really great and you've done your best, but it was really like the Owl and the Pussycat tonight.

    • (During her dance practices)
Heather Mills: I wasn't surprised to be in the bottom two because we were marked down because of the fall. If you fall down, you have to get back up, dust yourself off and start all over again.
Jonathan Roberts: Our song is Don't Cry For Me Argentina and the Paso is your harshest dance yet but if we don't really perform it...
Heather Mills: This week we've traveled sixteen thousand miles and we are exhausted! I just hope it doesn't show in our Paso Doble.

(Judges' comments on Heather and Jonathan's Paso Doble)
Tom Bergeron: All right, let's turn to the judges. Well, Bruno's smiling - I can never tell if that's a good thing!
Bruno Tonioli: Is it good or is it bad? For a moment, I thought you broke into Heather Mills the opera. You used drama very, very well! No, really, you put so much into and you work so hard. You take our comments and you work on it. There's still a ways to go, but great job!
Carrie Ann Inaba: I'm always amazed you throw more tricks in than anybody else. And you do them very, very well, but you could open your hands up a bit more. But great job.
Len Goodman: Great job, you could raise your upper body a bit, but great, great job.

    • (Judges' comments on Joey and Kym's Samba)
Len Goodman: Well, I tell you what, you're a beauty, you really are. You're like a big swashbuckling guy that just comes out and sells it. You were right on, your moltas were a big off, but what a great performance! You really came out and sold it!
Bruno Tonioli: Well, Len, was this manly enough for you?
      Len Goodman: Quite then!
Bruno Tonioli: You went for it like a randy fighting cock! You really went for it, what a shame though, you just messed up a little bit. He did! (crowd boos) He did!
Carrie Ann Inaba: You know what? It was one of your best performances so far. You're insane and that reads so well!

    • In the audience tonight are eliminated contestant Leeza Gibbons, former N'Sync band member JC Chasez, former 90210 star Gabrielle Carteris,
former Cheers star George Wendt, and ABC star George Lopez.

    • Samantha Harris made a goof when talking to Laila and Maksim - she announced their scores before judges actually revealed them.

    • Kym Johnson's partner from last season, Jerry Springer, made an appearance during her Samba practice with Joey this week.

Jerry and Kym's Samba last season was selected as the Judges' Encore Dance during that week due to its sheer entertainment value.

    • After Apolo and Julianne's Rumba, Tom Bergeron comments, "And the Tucker Carlson chair curse has been broken!"

This is in reference to last season's first eliminated star, Tucker Carlson. He was partnered with Elena Grinenko and relied on his chair during the entire dance, which gave him very low scores.
