Joey Fatone's in the bottom TWO?! ok.. i knew billy ray was going home. in fact, my last words before i saw it were "bye bye billy ray". its not that he didnt try, he really did, but i knew it was either him or joey, and joey rocks. i cant believe joeys in the bottom two! i thought laila would be! i mean we all knew appollo wasnt gonna be, i really want joey to win, if he goes home ill be so upset. hes working hard, and has a great personality. everyone needs to keep voting for joey!!moreless
  • Okay, Joey in the bottom two, what's wrong with this picture.

Joey and Kym are my pick for the finals but America has shown that you are never safe. My bottom two was Billy Ray and Ian. It was no surprise that Billy Ray was sent home, it was long overdue. However, Joey in the bottom two was a big surprise. He obviously has the score, however, I think he needs to do some personal apprearance to kiss some babies and shake some more hands. He needs the votes. That being said, just like some of the other reality tv shows you never know who's going to be the last one standing.moreless

  • And then there were three...

As predicted (and maybe hoped by many) Billy Ray is off the show. He seemed genuinely happy about that, but then again, if I was the recipient of the verbal onslaught thrown at him, I'd want to get the heck off the show too.

It's unfortunate that Joey and Kim had to be included at the bottom two, but there really wasn't another couple who should have been there. Apolo and Julianne certainly showed us once again why they're going to win this thing, contrary to Carrie Ann's statement to Joey that he practically has this in the bag.

I do think that it is going to be a tough fight from here on out, and everyone will have to kick it up a notch. Although Joey and Kim are very good, and Laila and Maks are contenders, I really think that Apolog and Julianne are in a class all by themselves.

It will certainly prove to be one of the most exciting finishes yet!moreless
  • For one brief moment I was terrified...

Thank goodness it was finally Billy Ray's turn to go tonight. First of all, he seemed immensely relieved. When Tom announced he was out he gave that little elbow jab "Yes!" sign. And I really don't think I could have watched another more deserving star be eliminated before him. I agree he has improved from his first day, but he is still nowhere near anyone else's league. He is a singer - that's what he does best.

That being said, I honestly thought that Ian and Cheryl were going to be the other couple in the bottom two, based on scores and popularity. I have obviously underestimated the 90210 fanbase - either that or Cheryl's fanbase is still going strong. Anyway, once they were announced as semi-finalists I knew Joey and Kym were going to be the other ones in the bottom two. I must admit it was funny when they were about to announce who was going home - Billy and Karina were smiling and looked very relaxed, while Joey and Kym had this look of abject terror on their faces.

And while I have read on other forums how Leila is being criticized for being so confident of how far she will go, I admire that determination. She is really the only one who has flat-out said, "I want to win this thing." I like that. She did chide Maksim on not getting so excited, but Maksim has, as far as I know, never made it this far. So he deserves to be excited.

Overall, a great results show - great performances and lots of suspense. Can't wait until the semi-finals get underway.moreless

    • (Some comments from the contestants and pro dancers)
Apolo Anton Ohno: Even though this is a competition, we've all bonded and we've become really good friends. It's like a little family.
Billy Ray Cyrus: I think I've already fell in love about eight different times with the different people that I've met.
Julianne Hough: We all have a really great relationship and we're all so supportive of each other that nobody wants to see anyone go home.
Kym Johnson: Elimination night is awful.
Ian Ziering: As soon as someone gets put in the red light, they go to commercial break and at that moment we all go over to those people and say good luck.
Joey Fatone: When someone gets eliminated, they have a talk, they do their last dance, we go up to them and really say goodbye.
Kym Johnson: It's all very emotional. And all of a sudden it hits you, this couple is gone tonight, they're not coming back tomorrow.
Laila Ali: Different people have different reactions when they get voted off the show. Some people feel like they don't have to do all this work anymore, some people feel like they aren't ready to leave, they didn't get to do their favorite dance yet. And I think that all of us that stay are just happy we aren't the person that was voted off.
Joey Fatone: It's hard to see someone get eliminated because you know they tried their hardest. But maybe their hardest just wasn't good enough.
Kym Johnson: The competition's heating up on the dance floor. But as the couples are leaving each week, it's getting very empty backstage.
Ian Ziering: There's more spaces on the couch, in the makeup trailer, there's less banter in the hallways. It's just empty.
Joey Fatone: And you're like, "Hey, Shan- oh, you're not there. Okay, well, hey Clyde- oh you're gone too."
Laila Ali: Couples are getting voted off and it can be lonely. But hey, it's lonely at the top. And this is where I wanna be.
Billy Ray Cyrus: Every week I've been trying to prepare myself to say goodbye to all my newfound friends. After being in the bottom two, it's starting to feel a little more real.
Apolo Anton Ohno: This is a competition, someone has to go home every week. And bottom line, is that we'd all be lying if we said we didn't wish it was someone else, not us.
Joey Fatone: It's on Donkey Kong!
Laila Ali: I hope that I continue to say goodbye to someone every week and I'm still on that stage, waiting for my trophy.

    • (Backstage comments)
Laila Ali: My parents had a good time. My father enjoyed the performance. He really loved it when Billy Ray came over and threw punches at him so he kind of took my spark!
Samantha Harris: Nice of you to share your family with everyone!
Apolo Anton Ohno: I'm just having fun with it. I think we're in a great position. So we're just going to take it week by week.
Samantha Harris: Billy Ray, I know you heard some harsh words from the judges last night - are you still upset?
Billy Ray Cyrus: Lord no! This is a celebration! I got to meet my hero, Muhammad Ali last night. I conquered a fear. I got out on this dance floor, I met the fans. I'm not even supposed to be here right now and I'm getting ready to go do the Jimmy Kimmel show.
