  • It was a night of promise,with great performances & very bad performances.

    Saw excellent performances by Shawn Johnson & Mark Ballas (27) & Gilles Marini & Cheryl Burke (27), as well as, Lil'Kim & Derek Hough (25). David Alan Grier & Kym Johnson (24) did a very good Foxtrot. He is improving each time and is taking it very seriously. Melissa Rycroft & Tony Dovolani (24) are really great together. Expect to see them in the top 3. Lawrence Taylor & Edyta Sliwinska (20) should have scored higher. For a football player, he is very good on his feet. Ty Murray & Chelsie Hightower (23) showed great improvement. He was more relaxed & fluid. Not withstanding the judges scores, I'm not impressed with Chuck Wicks & Julianne Hough (23), Holly Madison & Dmitry Chapin (17) & Denise Richards & Max Cherkovkiy (16). The worst performance was Steve Wozniak & Karina Smirnoff (10) followed by Steve-O & Lacey Schwimmer (15). The judges, finally, told Steve, both in their comments, as well as, their scores, how bad a dancer he is.moreless

    Now we have 3 couples who are leading the pack: Melissa and Tony, Gilles and Cheryl, and Shawn and Mark. Their dances were really good! I was very impressed with Shawn's. She's definitely my favorite this season =D I can't believe Steve Wozniak got a score of 10 this week! I've never seen the 3 scorecard before XD At least he comes out, tries, and has fun with it. Julianne and Chuck did a good job. It's nice to see their relationship isn't getting in the way of their dances. I can't believe Chelsie fell! I know it was an accident, and her dress caught on her shoe. What was funny about it was how everyone reacted to it: like it didn't happen XD The crowd said nothing, the judges scarcely mentioned it, and Ty just picked her up and went right back to dancing XDmoreless

    all the dancers are improving.

    The top of pack again are Melissa, Gilles and Shawn. It looks like Melissa is going to by my pick for this season. My second pick is Shawn. People may think that since Melissa took ballet and was a professional cheerleader, she has an edge. Ballet is totally different than ballroom. And cheerleading is more like gymnastics. Wow, she is really good. And the training clips really showed how hard she has to work to get the steps right. What was up with Carrie Ann. Didn't she see the same clip we saw? Shawn is so adorable. The funny thing is, she has the typical gymnast's body. Short, muscular and she's very "stocky". She doesn't have a dancers body. What she does have is determination and discipline. Gilles is a total surprise. He moves like Derek or Mark. Very impressive.

    Lil Kim was good again. She and Derek have good chemistry and she works hard. Chuck and Julianne improved so much from last week. He actually danced with her this time. Very nice performance. (PS, a comment about last week's training clip w/Chuck and Julianne. Wasn't it totally hilarious when Julianne told Chuck to walk like Derek, he knows how to walk like a woman. I almost fell off my chair!) oops, I missed David's performance, but I did hear that he improved greatly. Whoo-hoo--Ty gets better by leaps and bounds every week. When he danced, I thought, omg, he looks just like Fred Astaire. Great job! Lawrence improved again, good job. Edyta is one my professional faves.

    The Steve's. Wow, what can you say. The Woz has enthusiasm. You can't take that away from him. And he got hurt again. Please, have mercy on the poor man's body. Steve-O. What happened man? The man punishes his body for a living and is getting the crap kicked out of him by the ballroom floor. I don't know whether to pray that he gets voted off so he won't get crippled or to give him another chance b/c he seems so dedicated to the show. I'd like to see at least one good dance come out of him. At least for Lacey's sake. Denise and Holly, eh. They were so-so. Nothing to write home about.

    I was most impressed that by week three, there was no more posing by the celebrity while the pro danced.

    Denise and Maks did a fair job this week. I think they were not as bad as the judges thought. They ended up in the bottom three.

    Holly and Dmitry did a good job. I hope her dance steps are better next week.

    Chuck and Julianne did OK. I wish they did more dancing together and not as much moving to the music.

    I hope Lacey and Steve O end up in the dance off. I really want to see him do the whole dance. I know he can do it. I also know he has legions of fans that will keep him in the competition.

    Lawrence and Edyta did better this week. I wish he had been able to move his hips more. I think he will definitely do more of that in his next Latin dance.

    Shawn and Mark were the first couple to get all nines tonight. The champion gymnast knows when to turn it on.

    Gilles and Cheryl were up next and also scored 27. They were hot hot hot. I love to have a fast Latin song with the Latin dances.

    David and Kym made the most improvement from last week. I am glad. Len said one dance will not win or lose this competition. I disagree vehemently with that. Like American Idol, you are only as good as your last performance. I have seen great dancers get voted off with one bad week.

    The Woz and Karina were a sight to behold. I feel sorry for her. I hope this is their last week. I do not want Steve to get hurt any more than he already has been.

    Melissa and Tony got the last nearly perfect score this week. I heartily agree. The others should fear when they get the same practice time as Melissa and Tony and if Melissa improves over the weeks to come.

    Lil Kim and Derek had another of my favorite hot Latin dance to match the music. I wish the judges agreed. Watch out if she puts it all together. If not putting in enough traditional dance steps was all Len could criticize, Derek is doing a great job with his choreography. I cannot believe Chelsie fell. Ty was excellent and went on like a pro. I was very impressed and hope he gets to stay around a while longer. This was easily his best dance.

    Kudos to all. I look forward to the next round.moreless
