It's time for another spin across the dance floor as the celebrities perform either the Argentine Tango or the Lindy Hop, in front of a live studio audience.
  • Two dances introduced for the first time, Argentine Tango and the Lindy Hop. Allowed the dancers to do lifts.

It was a great evening of dancing. The Stars danced the Argentine Tango or the Lindy Hop. Argentine Tango is serious, dramatic & passionate. The Lindy Hop is fun & fast, with a lot of physical moves. The top performer, with a perfect score of 30, was Gilles Marini & Cheryl Burke, performing the Argentine Tango. It was the perfect dance for Gilles. Carrie Ann said it best " I saw two professional dancers performing". With an almost perfect score of 29, Melissa Rycroft & Tony Dovolani performed the Lindy Hop. It looked effortless but Len had to score it as a 9. Lil'Kim & Derek Hough performed the Argentine Tango, receiving a score of 27. Bruno loved it scoring a10, Carrie Ann really liked it, but scored a 9 and Len liked it, but found it lacking some of the important character, so scored it an 8. Biggest improvement was Ty Murray & Chelsie Hightower performing the Lindy Hop & scoring 25. He really came out of his reserve and let loose. Shawn Johnson & Mark Ballas performed the Lindy Hop but did too many tricks and not enough dancing for the judges. They scored 25 tying for 4th. Chuck Wicks & Julianne Hough performed the Lindy Hop scoring 22 but Julianne did most of the dancing. The bottom two performances were Steve-O & Lacey Schwimmer, who performed the Lindy Hop, scoring 15. Steve-O tried hard but just could not keep up to Lacey. Steve Wozniak & Karina Smirnoff, performing the Argentine Tango, scoring 12, which was generous.moreless
  • The cream is rising to the top.

I can say that the top dancers are starting to separate themselves from the rest of the cast. There are four dancers in the teens. I have to say that I expect two of them to be the ones eliminated tomorrow.

David and Kym were wonderful. You can only expect him to do so much. He is not a spring chicken, nor an athlete.

Lil Kim and Derek are wonderful. The music, costume and dance fit in so well with the Argentine Tango. I was shocked but delighted with the 10 from Bruno.

Chuck and Julianne were cute. They did a good routine, but not a great one.

Lawrence should have more coordination. I think Edyta is great, but there is something missing in his performances. I do not think he will make it into second half of the season.

Bless Ty's heart. He knows if the bull throws him off, he has to brush off the dirt and get right back on without dwelling on the mistakes he made before. He is blessed with the strength and talent of an athlete. I loved how much fun he had tonight and am very proud of his dance.

I have already said that because if his injuries, Steve W needs to go home. I am afraid he will get hurt even more if he continues. Yes, his joie de vivre is terrific, but this nonsense has got to stop.

Melissa never ceases to amaze me. I adore Tony and knew he would choreograph an awesome dance. Their Lindy Hop was fantastic in every way. Boo Len! I am sorry that Holly is hurt. She is not a favorite to begin with and this does not help her cause a bit.

I cannot believe that Steve O did not bring it this week. The Lindy Hop was his dance and he was absolutely wooden. It was very sad.

Gilles and Cheryl were so hot, I think there were some TVs in America that either melted or blew up. I was not surprised when they got 10s but was not expecting the 30.

Shawn and Mark ended the evening with their Lindy Hop. I was disappointed. There was a lot of gymnastics used, but the dancing fell short of others with less talent.moreless
  • We finally see some 10s!!!!!

Tonight was amazing!!!! I thought some of the stars who were at the top last week would start to fall tonight, but they just kept on rising! Gilles and Cheryl performed the Argentine Tango and got a score of 30!!! It was awesome! Melissa and Tony also performed that dance and got a score of 29. Lil' Kim finally broke free from the middle of the pack with a 27. Shawn and Mark dropped to a 25, but their Lindy Hop was the most entertaining. For the first time, we see Shawn's skills in gymnastics as she used them in her routine. Chuck and Julianne remain in the middle of the pack, while Holly, Steve, and Steve-O remain in the teens. Ty Murray finally has his breakthrough and gets scores in the 20s, as is David Allen Grier and Lawrence Taylor. An excellent night of competition! =Dmoreless
  • Week 4 of competition and already the first 30 of the season.

Wow. It's only week four and we have our first perfect 30!

I'm gonna focus on the really good and great performances. Lil Kim-Although not a big fan of hers, her Argentine Tango was fabulous. I don't know what Len was talking about with comment about Kim and Derek's sensuality. Forgot their score.

Ty----He is improving by leaps and bounds every week. Everyone better watch out for him 'cause he's gonna sneak in there and give everyone a run for that mirror ball trophy. He's also so sweet and adorable. 25 points, season high.

Chuck----He and Julianne were pretty good. However, they really have to step it up in order to compete with the 3 leaders. 19 points.

Melissa----My favorite Lindy Hop of the night. OMG. Those lifts were amazing and there was so much difficult choreography. Melissa and Tony made it look so easy and you can believe that she is a professional ballroom dancer. C'mon Len, that last trick, they were exhausted, give them a break. Should have been a perfect 30.

Gilles----My favorite Argentine Tango. Whichever judge said that it was hard to tell who was the professional was absolutely right. It was perfection. Cheryl and Gilles, well deserved 30.

Shawn----Nice performance. I liked the gymnastics that were incorporated into the dance. And the costumes were cute. I agreed with all the judges when they said there should have been more Lindy. I thought 24 points was fair.

David and Lawrence were Ok. Holly, the Woz and Steve-O were terrible. Double elimination tomorrow. I see Steve-O and Holly going home. The Woz will probably get a ton of sympathy votes again.moreless

    • Tom Bergeron: Is it me or is Bruno starting to look like a really tanned Bela Lugosi?

    • Edyta Sliwinska: Argentine Tango's a very passionate seductive dance. Lawrence Taylor: I'll still be married after this dance, right? Edyta Sliwinska: We'll see!

    • Tom Bergeron: If you're just joining us, Samantha's voice is disappearing faster than my 401K.

    • Chelsie Hightower: I slipped on my dress and I wanted to apologise for that. Ty Murray: Don't apologise. I've had eight thousand mistakes and you got one. And it wasn't your fault anyway, it was the dress. You just need to get a shorter dress.

    • Ty Murray: With this lindy hop, we're dancing fast and taking chances because with no risk there can be no reward.
