"Superb"

Wow! I knew this week would have to be the changing point in the season, but I didn't know it would change so much! Gilles has fallen from the top spot at last. Replacing him, is Lil' Kim and Derek with their theatrical jive. I loved it!!! I couldn't get over how great it was! I watched it twice XD That dance was great, but the best part of the episode was during the interview segment of Shawn and Mark's routine. Mark knew Shawn would be missing her prom for the show, so he created his own for her. He bought her a dress and everything! It was so adorable! Their ramba was pretty good. It was so innocent and sweet XD Chuck and Julianne's ramba was another story! XD I think Chuck managed to touch every part of Julianne in that routine XD Len said it was something suited more for the bedroom XD I must admit that the outfits were pretty awesome though. Steve O made an excellent comeback. His scores were all across the board though, but he finally got his 7 from Carrie Ann.moreless

From "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" we have "The Great, The Poor and The Terrible".Lil'Kim & Derek Hough, dancing the Jive, scored a 28. Carrie Ann & Bruno loved it and each scored it a 10. They gave them a standing ovation. Carrie Ann said: "it was amazing and mind blowing". Bruno said: "it was fabulous and rocked". Len was not happy with it. He said: " it was not the jive and too theatrical". He scored it an 8. Melissa Rycroft & Tony Dovolani, dancing the Rumba, scored a 27. All three judges scored them a 9 each. Len said: " it was clean, precise and fabulous". Bruno said: "it was effortless & incredible sharp". Carrie Ann said: "it showed emotion and romance". I expected perfect score of 30 based on their performance and the judge's comments. Gilles Marini & Cheryl Burke, dancing the Jive, scored a 26. Len said: "it was a little bit hectic and there was no fun in the dance. Bruno & Carrie Ann made fun of his arms doing a "mad squirrel". Shawn Johnson & Mark Ballas, dancing the Rumba, scored a 26. They did well together, to show the romance of the dance. Mark helped Shawn by bring the Prom into it and as he said: "keeping it age appropriate". Bruno & Carrie Ann scored it each 9. They found it beautiful. Len scored it an 8 and said: "it was just right". These were the great dances of the night. The poor dances were the next two scores. Chuck Wicks & Julianne Hough, dancing the Rumba, scored a 23. Julianne did all of the dancing. Given their romantic relationship, they are unable to channel this into their performances. Lawrence Taylor & Edyta Sliwinska, dancing the Jive, scored a 22. He is just not comfortable dancing. The Terrible dances would be the two lowest scores. Ty Murray & Chelsie Hightower, dancing the Jive, scored an 18. All 3 judges scored them 6 each. It had nothing resembling the Jive. Steve-O & Lacey Schwimmer, dancing the Rumba, scored a 16. Carrie Ann scored it a 7 because she was memorized by it. Bruno scored it a 5 finding it charming but said: Lacey you did all the dancing". Len scored it a 4 and said: " it was no good". The bottom 3 should be Steve-O, Ty Murray and Lawrence Taylor tied with Chuck Wicks. I expect Ty Murray will be eliminated although it should be Steve-O.moreless

A Tale of Two Halves.

With eight dancers, there are four in my top half and four in my bottom half. Any of the last four could be voted off this week. I am sorry to say the two of them will end up in the second half of the season when two dances per week are required.

Ty and Chelsie started the evening off with some country high stepping. Unfortunately, this was the jive. They were judged accordingly.

I worried that Shawn would not be able to pull off the sulty rumba. She and Mark danced gracefully into a tie for third place. Lawrence and Edyta did their best dance this week with the jive. It does not make it any less painful to watch. The better dancers move much faster.

Melissa and Tony did a hot rumba that put them into second place. It was a nice rebound from the torn dress last week.

Lil Kim and Derek were fun, fast and bouncy in their jive. Elvis would have been proud of this Jailhouse Rock.

Steve O and Lacey were nice to watch, but I am not sure that was dancing.

Gilles and Cheryl were fast and too furious for the judges this week in the jive. They move like pros, but missed some steps according to the judges.

Chuck and Julianne were at their best with a romantic rumba this week. They were not the best but I seriously doubt they will be in the bottom two this week.moreless

But this is a step in the right direction. Carrie Ann Inaba: You need to work a little bit more on the technique. Len Goodman: Part of that was more suitable for the bedroom than the ballroom. A little bit too much in the face.
