The quarterfinals have arrived. The remaining celebrities will dance one Latin and one Ballroom dance they have never done before. They will also perform a fifteen second solo during a group Latin dance.

    Wow the stars have really kicked it into high gear! =D All of the dancers did a great job! Ty was the one little exception. I like Ty as a person, but as a dancer, not so much. He tries, but he's just not cut out to make it to the semi-finals. I can't believe Bruno made that tramp comment to Lil' Kim! I know he didn't mean it the way it sounded, but he should never have used that word. Lil' Kim can really shake it! XD She did great in her Latin dance. So did Shawn. Both of her dances were great. Good music too =D Melissa's samba was the best dance of the night! =D I feel sorry for her because of her "wardrobe malfunction" at the end of her dance. At least it didn't happen while she was dancing...moreless

    Yeah, I said it! LOL. I'm a hater, I know. But I never had a problem with Melissa until last week when she didn't perform in the group routine. How unfair is that to the other contestants??? I would be pissed if I were them that Melissa is still around. And to score her samba tonight a 30 and not give any of the other performances a perfect score is BS!!! Her solo was bad and only lasted like 2 seconds. She better not win this season. I LOVED Lil Kim and Derek's salsa!!! WOW, it was so high energy and full of fun. Derek is an incredible teacher and an amazing choreography. This routine should have gotten at least one 10!

    Tysie's Argentine Tango deserved higher scores. They just want him to leave the comp. Boo @ the judges!

    Gilles' hands annoy me. They look weird all the time, lol. But he's cool and is a good dancer. I preferred the Foxtrot over their Rumba.

    Shawn is adorable. I liked their Paso.moreless

    This week, each couple does one ballroom, then one Latin dance with a 15 second solo by the star.

    We did start off with the pros dancing. Louis was back (yea!) and partnered with Lacey, who lightened her hair. Jonathan was paired with his lovely wife Anna. Dmitry and Kym rounded out the group.
    The three pairs first did all the dances the contestants would do in the ballroom segment. They returned later to do the Latin dances. It is no secret that I love when the pro dance together and I thought both routines that Louis choreographed were wonderful.

    Shawn and Mark started things off with a quickstep. I thought it was good but not great. They got straight nines. Their second dance was the paso doble. Shawn could not stop laughing. Mark told her that when he watched her during the Olympics, she had a serious face. That must have helped. They got a near perfect score and are a point out of first place.

    Ty and Chelsie were next. Ty had a strong Angentine Tango and tied his best score of the season. However, his rumba was his downfall. He shook his hips in front of Jewel and made me blush. Their total was 11 points less than the lead.

    Lil Kim and Derek did a waltz that put them on the bottom of the leader board. They came back with a salsa that lit up the room. Lil Kim shook her bon bon and brought down the house. The judges thought it was a bit out of control and gave them straight nines. This put them in fourth place.

    Gilles and Cheryl were nearly perfect in their foxtrot. I missed their rumba, but they got nines, tying them for second place.

    Melissa and Tony did a graceful Viennese waltz that scored a 27. They came back with perfect rumba that put them in the lead by one point. Melissa really shook it up in her solo. Tony was so happy. It was his first 30 since season 2. I hope Stacy is watching somewhere.

    Even the judges noted that this is the closet competition ever. One point separates the top three couples. Only four will advance to next week.moreless

    • This is the first time since week five in season two with celebrity dancer Stacy Keibler, that professional dancer Tony Dovolani has received a perfect ten with his celebrity dance partner. Ironically, they were both Sambas. Tony and Stacy when on to received three more perfect tens in week six for their Jive, week eight for the Jive again, and the finals for their Samba.
