This is another Daniel Boone episode that plays fast and loose with the facts of history yet remains entertaining and enjoyable. Veteran British Shakespearean actor Maurice Evans is the lead guest star in this one playing famed French playwright Pierre Beaumarchais. Though the real life Beaumarchais was a supporter of the American cause in the Revolutionary War, he never sat foot on North American soil as depicted in this episode.

Not to matter about the historical inaccuracies. The viewer still gets an entertaining and enjoyable romp about the attempts of Daniel Boone and Native American sidekick Mingo to help Beaumarchais smuggle gold for the Patriot cause through British lines. We also get an appearance from future Days of Our Lives star Louise Sorel and we get to listen to the fine singing voice of Ed Ames. Just sit back, enjoy the ride, and forget about the historical inaccuracies.moreless
