Fryman (about Mingo): I'm sure Boone'll vouch for him. Daniel: I don't have to vouch for him. He's as good a man as any.

Daniel: I couldn't eat another bite. Israel: Well I could.

Fryman: There are ears that shouldn't hear about it. Mingo: I could go out back with the children, Mr. Fryman, but I'll hear about it eventually.

Fryman: I'm gonna tell you once more--don't crowd me and don't crowd her, Uncle Luke.

Mingo: What's your mother up to? Israel: She and Mrs. Jarvis are talking. Must be important. She told me to clear out and come in here.

Daniel: You know, Simon, looks like it's gonna be a long afternoon.

Daniel: You must be on the mend, Simon. You came to with only one bucket this time.

Jarvis: How long I gotta breathe of this steam? Daniel: Until you dry out.

Daniel: Simon, I want you to tell me what happened. I need you sober for that. Jarvis: I don't wanna be sober. It's a free country, isn't it? Daniel: You oughta know. You won a medal for helpin' make it that way. Jarvis: You know, Daniel, you take the prize. When all else fails, waive the flag.

Daniel (about Israel): He knows how to ask the questions. The trick is bein' able to answer 'em.

Mingo (to Daniel): With all this waiting around I'm getting as jumpy as Israel.

Fryman: You went out and seen for yourself, huh? Daniel (about Jarvis): I've seen liquored up men before. Fryman: That's not what I mean. I mean the other thing. The fear in his eyes and his face.

Luke (to Mingo): You find an Indian, you find a thief.

Daniel: Are you ready to get outta here? Mingo: I think I might be persuaded to leave.

Luke: You still gotta fight your way outta town. Daniel: It'll be a pleasure, Luke. Ten against two is about your style. Jarvis (enters): Ten against three.
