Although she was older than her sibling in the series, in real life Jemima Boone was three years younger than her brother, Israel.
Black Fish was a real life Shawnee chief whose band once took the real Daniel Boone into captivity. Black Fish himself adopted Boone and gave him the name Big Turtle. Boone spent approximately four months in Shawnee captivity before making a successful escape.

Mingo: Those Mohawks run very well. Daniel: And they danced all last night too.
Daniel (to Mingo about the Mohawks): Let 'em live. As long as they set a good pace it'll make us run faster.
Israel: How'd you get back? Daniel: Oh, I just snuck up and snuck in.
Rebecca: If our men must die our women must die with them.
Black Fish: Goodbye, my son. Be careful.
