Israel: What's Mr. Dobb say?
Beasley: Well, Mr. Dobb says that if the Lord made us all in his own image then some of us have slipped a little bit.
Daniel (to Beasley): Civilization comes creepin' in and tolerance just doesn't keep pace with it.
Cincinnatus (about his duties as magistrate): Mrs. Grace, I am a little weak on law but a bull ox on equity.
Ess: Is all this stuff magic?
Beasley: There's a lot of magic in everything. Even bein' alive.
Israel (about the potion): Do you think that'll work?
Beasley: Well, I tell ya, if the Widow Jones allows Ess to sit with her 29 nights in a row I'll be a little scared of my own medicine.
Beasley (to Israel): Yale College, that's a good place to learn but they go a little too much by the book.
Mrs. Grace: Don't worry, Mr. Hines, justice will triumph.
Beasley: I wish I could be sure of that, Mrs. Grace.
Cincinnatus: I am goin' upstairs to wrestle with this decision until equity throws me.
In this episode, Cincinnatus adds magistrate to his other positions in Boonesborough.
This episode marked the first of three appearances by Victor French and Med Flory as Ess and Bingen Hines, two buffoons who consistently got themselves into trouble in and around Boonesborough. French and Flory would return in The Landlords and How to Become a Goddess which both aired in Season 6.
Burl Ives sings I Was Born a Thousand Years Ago.
Liam Sullivan becomes the third actor to portray famed orator/patriot/politician Patrick Henry on the series.
