Mason: Was it Indians? Daniel: If they were Indians they woulda lifted your scalp. Mason: The way it feels it doesn't make much difference.

Mason: I don't see a woman goin' around stealin' horses. Daniel: That sentiment does you proud, Mason, but it goes to show how much you don't know about women.

Doggett (to Ellie): It's common knowledge that takin' a bath brings on sickness and a vapor yet you do it anyhow.

Doggett (to Ethan): It's been my experience where there's three Indians there's more where they came from.

Doggett: Sir, are you calling me a horse thief? Daniel: Well, would you know any other name for it?

Doggett: Now that we've got our little differences settled..... Daniel: Our little differences! You stole my horse and cost me a day's travel and you call it a little difference?

Doggett: You're not runnin' from the law, are you, Mr. Boone? Daniel: No, are you? Doggett: No, whatever gave you that idea?

Daniel: You just take my suggestion and go back to where you came from. Doggett: Mr. Boone, I find that suggestion a bit impractical. Ellie: What he means is we got run outta town the last place we came from. Doggett: Ellie, please!

Doggett: Mr. Boone, am I to understand you plan on making my kin and myself beasts of burden? Daniel: That's one way of puttin' it. Doggett: Why that's downright degrading. Besides, conscripting labor is against the law. Daniel: Well maybe you'd like to go back to that town that just run you out of it.

Doggett: Me break trail for you? If we was to run into hostile Indians a man could get killed. Daniel: That it could. It just might save me the trouble. Now move out!

Doggett: You're not the kinda man who'd shoot down an unarmed man. Daniel: But I'd have no compunction whatsoever about hangin' a horse thief. Doggett: Now there you go bringin' up a subject I thought was settled.

Doggett: Nobody ever did anything for me I felt I had to pay for. Daniel: From what I've seen of you, Simon, I reckon that goes both ways.

Daniel (about Doggett): The worst he could do is join up with the British and that might be a big help to us.
