John Ireland's false moustache nearly falls off on several occasions.
For one of the few times on the series, the Native Americans are on horseback in this episode. Almost every other time they are on foot.
Daniel: Howdy, Cincinnatus. Looks like you're doin' quite a business. Cincinnatus: Everybody's lookin' but nobody's buyin'.
Cincinnatus: I know what I was partial to when I was a young un. Daniel: Since when did you start stockin' pretty girls?
Manville (to Daniel): If you found a gold mine, would you tell everyone where it was?
Manville: Mr. Boone, why don't you mind your business and I'll mind mine?
Manville: You sure ride a tall horse around here, don't you? Daniel: When I have to. Manville: Someday, Mr. Boone, somebody's gonna cut you down to size. Daniel: Well now that's been done too so if you think you can do it you're welcome to try.
Israel (to Rebecca): You know, for an older person, sometimes you understand kids pretty good.
Manville: My wife's alone. We live quite a distance from the fort. Daniel: You shoulda thoughta that before.
Manville: It won't work, Boone. You can only shoot one of us. Daniel: That's right, Manville, and I guarantee you'll be the one so if you think I'm bluffin'......
Manville: If you ask me, Boone's makin' too big a thing of this. Cincinnatus: I don't recalls anyone asked you. Manville: Well I'm sayin' it anyway.
Daniel (to Canuda about Rebecca and Israel): If I find you've harmed them in any way, I promise you I'll bury this war axe in your skull.
Manville: What gives you the right to bargain with human lives? Daniel: What's the matter, Manville? For a few dollars you've probably sold all the lives in this valley.
In this episode it's revealed that Israel is nine years old.
One wonders why Mingo doesn't appear in this episode since it involves his Cherokee tribe. Perhaps it's another branch.
