Daniel Boone

All that is known about the real Rebecca Bryan Boone is what Daniel and others wrote about her. Rebecca left no record or writings about her life with Daniel due to the fact that she was illiterate. Their marriage appears to have been a happy one despite suffering through the deaths of one child during infancy and two more due who were killed by Indians during raids. Including Israel Boone who perished at the age of 23 in a battle between Colonial forces and Indians in the Battle of Blue Licks in 1782. Rebecca Boone died in 1813 while living in Missouri with her husband. Daniel had settled there at the invitation of the Spanish government in the early 19th century after his Kentucky land claims were declared invalid.
