Chad: Was she pretty, Daniel? Daniel: Well, to tell you the truth, Chad, I didn't get a very good look at her, but from the way she moved I can say she was young. Chad: Well now that's encouraging.

Rebecca (to Daniel): As I remember it, the last time you brought somebody home as a surprise, there was eleven of 'em.

Elizabeth: Please don't ask me things I cannot answer. Daniel: Can't, Elizabeth, or won't?

Cincinnatus (about Rosebud): Israel, how many times have I told you to keep that wild animal outta here? Israel: Just about everytime I come in.

Cincinnatus (to Chad): Why don't you close your mouth? You look like a bullfrog tryin' to catch flies.

Mingo (about the valley): According to legend, no man has ever set foot there. Daniel: Considerin' all the trouble we had gettin' here, I can understand that.

Daniel: Mingo, you don't wanna go down there, do you? Mingo: To tell you the truth, Daniel, I have just enough of the Englishman in me to laugh at the legend and just enough of the Indian to know better.

Daniel (about the valley): From what I've seen of it, I wouldn't exactly call it the Promised Land.

Corbett (to Mingo): Why did you come here? Daniel: Mingo is an enlightened Indian. He doesn't hold with ancient superstitions.

Chad: Daniel, it's my fault you're here. If I'd only listened to you. Daniel: It's a little too late for that, isn't it, Chad?
