Daniel: Why are you telling us this story, McAleer? You don't have no great name for charity along the border.

Amanda: It's too late for us, Amos. McAleer: When I come again, it'll be to take you.

Daniel (to Rebecca): You're not the ordinary kind of woman who likes ordinary things.

Daniel: Yad, all you've got to do is stand upwind and every redskin in Kentucky will know we're comin'.

Daniel (to McAleer): You've got too much Injun in you for your own good.

Daniel: Even the Shawnee know that evil spirits tell lies.

Man: Boone ain't comin' back. Daniel (enters): Who says he ain't?

McAleer (to Amanda): Kentucky, the richest land in America and it's mine.

Amanda: Take me back, Amos. I'd rather die like a human being than live like one of your animals.

McAleer: You might as well get used to my people, Amanda. You're gonna be with them a long time. Either as my queen or as my slave.

Dobson: That's my wife. Daniel: If they see us she'll be your late wife.

Yadkin (upon entering the Shawnee camp): You might think of an easier way to do this. Daniel: Smile, Yadkin. They might think you'd rather be someplace else.

Yadkin (points his rifle at the Shawnee): Even a Shawnee can't enjoy his corn soup with a busted belly.
