Drake (to Sylvie about Hoops): Next time he brings liquor make sure he brings a different brand.

Drake: Where do you think you're going? Sylvie: To New Orleans. I will sell the furs and live like a lady--for a change.

Daniel (to Hoops): I like to think my life's worth more than a bottle of liquor.

Daniel (to Proust): Isn't it funny how real simple things get real complicated?

Bartender (to Sylvie): One never forgets a beautiful woman.

Daniel: Mind if I join you? Sylvie: Yes, I mind--extremely. Daniel: I'm gonna join you anyway.

Daniel (about Drake): Do you know where he is? Sylvie: I know where he was a few hours ago.

Daniel: I want Drake. Sylvie: He's a very treacherous man. He will kill you if he gets a chance. Daniel: He's already had his chance.

Sylvie: This is the only gun I have. Daniel: This is not good for much outside a shootin' birds.

Drake (about Daniel and Sylvie): It's considerate of them to provide us with a beacon.
