Daniel: I won't hunt a man for money, Mr. Chadwick.
Benton: Why should I let someone else take the credit for my misdeeds?
Daniel: I got left with all this liquor on my hands. Benton: That is indeed a regrettable state of affairs.
Daniel (offering whiskey): You care to join me? Benton: I seldom touch it but if you insist.
Benton: What are you doing with a knife at my throat? Daniel: I'm doin' the governor a little favor.
Benton (about his friends): They'd hate to lose me. You see, they've become quite successful under my leadership.
Benton (to Daniel): I admire a cautious man.
Benton (to Daniel): If you're not careful you'll walk me to death and you'll never get me to Lexington to hang.
Benton: Sleep well? Daniel: Slept like a log. How about you? Benton: Tossed and turned all night long.
Benton (to Daniel): You sure you still wanna go to Lexington? I hear New Orleans is nice this time of year.
Daniel: You better save your breath for runnin', Benton.
Benton: No saplings around. Maybe I'll get some sleep tonight.
Daniel: Benton, you talk too much. Why don't you shut up and we'll get some sleep?
Benton: I'm beginning to like you. Daniel: Don't get to likin' me too much. I might not live through it.
Benton: You didn't have to come down here to help me, you know. Daniel: Maybe I'm gettin' soft-hearted.
Daniel: We'll have to wait it out a while. Benton: Suits me. I'm in no hurry to get to Lexington.
Benton: I've never done anybody any good. Daniel: That's what I hear.
Benton: I've been meaner than any ten men but I had a lot more fun.
Aldo Ray's role in this episode is similar to the one he would play in the 1967 Western, Welcome to Hard Times.
