Patrick Henry is most famous for his "Give me liberty or give me death" speech. He later served several terms as Virginia governor both during and after the Revolutionary War. Ironically, Henry opposed ratification of the United States Constitution on grounds that the document didn't do enough to safeguard individual liberties.
