  • Eh... not my favorite episode.

I fairly didn't like the fact that Danny was dating Paulina. For one, I really hate her and for two: I support DXS. We do find out later that Kitty is overshadowing her to make Johnny jealous because he rarely seems to pay attention to her. It hasn't aired on TV in a long time, so I haven't seen it in a while. But, they finally work something out, Sam's jealous and breaks things (lol) and the popularity chain is broken and screwed up. Yeah.... I didn't care for it plus why haven't they played it on TV? It wasn't unpopular, was it?
  • There were a lot of Danny and Paulina moments (sad for me). But if you squint really closely, there were mini 'Sam has a crush on Danny' moments too.

    "Superb"
Okay, where do I start? This episode showed how much Sam really cared for Danny, becasue she was jealous enough to punch a dent in a locker, rip the flag off of a mailbox, and crush a napkin holder. I've tried it, and people, it isn't as easy as it looks. So this episode shows that Sam definitely has a crush on Danny.

But what about Paulina and Danny? I don't really support this couple, but for those of you that do, I hope I'm not offending you in any way. Well, anyway, Danny likes her and Paulina seems to like him. Until of course, Danny realizes that she had been overshadowed by Kitty the entire time. So there's a love triangle now. I love love (Cool, I said love two times in a row!) triangles as long as the couple I like ends up together.

In the end, Paulina is back to normal, but now she has a crush on Danny Phantom (not Fenton), Star and Kwan end up together, and the trio of Danny, Sam, and Tucker are back to the way that they were in the beginning.

I only review episodes with DxS moments in them, but DxS thoughts do count, too. I love how Sam's jealousy was shown, and I love how Kitty knew how Danny felt about her. Those moments are totally considered DxS. I don't care if you disagree, they ARE! YAY DXS!!!
  • First ever love rectangle. And Sam got soooo jealous! :)

The absolute greatest part was seeing Sam get so jealous! XD I loved when she beat the locker up the most! Lucky in Love proves that Sam has feelings for Danny, and shallow as she is, at least Paulina has great taste in ghosts. It looks like Danny wasn't so clueless, either.

"I was going to overshadow your friend, the spooky chic in black. You like her, don't you?"

    "Sam? Well...I, uh..."

Plus, Danny was awesome at fighting Jhonny. Danny beating ghosts up never fails to amuse me. ^_^

"Ow! I thought this was supposed to be a pretend fight!"

"Then pretend that didn't hurt!" Go, Danny!
  • Eh, I don't know, but something about this episode wasn't as great as the others...

Eh, I don't know, but someting about this episode wasn't as great as the others. Nonetheless, I liked seeing Kitty and Johnny 13 again. I liked the end scene with Danny and Johnny 13, and I like Kitty's character a lot. The part with Kwan at Sam's goth poetry club was really funny as well. I don't know, but the scene with Danny and Paulina to me were really boring and I couldn't help but loose a bit of intrest. Other than that, Danny was, as always, adorable, and I liked the ending with Kitty and Johnny. Eh, I'm still somewhat undecided, but I appreciate this episode greatly.
  • When Paulina discovers Danny's secret identity, she ends up going out with him, but Danny soon learns that Paulina also has a secret.

This episode isn't my favorite, but it was still pretty good. No offense to anyone, but I don't care too much for Paulina. I would prefer that Danny and Sam go out. My favorite parts would have to be when Tucker, Sam, and Kwan were spending time together and someone (usually Tucker or Sam) would end up getting hurt. I also thought it was funny when Sam called Kwan 'The enemy of fun' I started busting out laughing when I heard her say that. I would have to give this episode a 9.7 because I don't care too much for Johnny 13 or Kitty, no offense to anyone who likes them.

tells about when paulina is possessed by Kitty. Paulina makes a crack about Danny and later finds out danny's secret and then becomes his girlfriend. and later he finds out that she is possessed by Kitty. Kitty dosent like danny but is using Paulina's body as a disguise to make Johnny jealous and seduce danny. She later tells a flashback. Kitty is in the women's bathroom, waiting for the right time to possess sam, but then sam is pushed rudely by Paulina and while washing her hands, Paulina looks to see something in her eye and is then taken over, and possessed by Kitty. She smiles with her red eyes in Paulina's body then she changes paulina's eyes back to blue. And then she threatens Danny by changing paulina's voice back to normal and says she'll tell and then later danny gets a plan and it works

Paulina sees Danny Phantom change back into Danny Fenton. After she says she'll keep his secret she starts flirting with him.Danny's dream comes true and he and Paulina start dating to Sam's dismay.Since Danny becomes Paulina's boyfriend he becomes populer and Kwan becomes loser. He starts hanging out with Sam and Tucker.Tuck decides to go for Paulina's friend Star, but soon realizes that beauty is only skin deep as she is a pain.Danny is having the time of his life with his new girlfriend until Jonny 13 shows up and revels that she is really his girlfriend Kitty.Jonny leaves saying Kitty isn't worth that much trouble.Kitty tells Danny she wanted to make Jonny jealous and she knew he hated him.Orginal she was going to overshadow Sam,but she saw Danny liked Paulina so she chose her.Danny tries to get out of it but she says she will tell everyone his secret.Danny tells Tuck and Sam about it and they tell him he needs to get Kitty back with Jonny. So Danny and Jonny make a plan for Danny to beat Jonny and than almost destroy him, which makes Kitty realize she still has feelings for him.Jonny and Kitty leave together and Danny's life goes back to normal well almost. Now Paulina is in love with his Phantom side, but has no feelings for Fenton.

An average episode, but once again I have to say Jonny 13 isn't much of a villain or a real big threat.I liked the plot I felt it wasn't as great as I thought it should have been. Not much happened but I like the fact that Paulina now has feelings for Danny Phantom.Sam was jealous through out the whole episode and seemed happy when she found out Kitty was control Paulina the whole time she and Danny were together.Kitty asked Danny if he liked Sam he didn't answer which may mean he has some feelings for her as well.If your big on couples you'll probably love this episode it has Danny/Paulina and Danny/Sam.This episode doesn't have much action.
  • well Johnny comes back.

This was a good episode but they made Johnny return way too soon. But anyway the good things about this episode are that it is actiony and it shows more shadow too. But the real reason this episode is so good to me is that Danny is caught in the middle of a love war between Kitty and Johnny so it was cool how she went to Danny. But the bad things here were that there were no major fights in my opinion. Also they just made Johnny and Kitty come back too soon. But the reason I gave it a high rating is because there was romance in it.
  • Sorry, Major Johnny 13 fan, can't help but give it a 10.

Okay, almost every cartoon or sitcom does the " I'm using you to get my ex back " plot. What I found majorly cool about this episode though is how it opened up with Johnny's shadow taking his shape. That was a pretty cool intro. What I also liked about it was Johnny's ability to go into and out of the ghost zone whenever he chose to, which Danny destroyed at the end of the episode. However, because of Johnny's unique personality, appearance, and power, and still choose to rank him as top ghost and give this episode a 10

Johnny 13's shadow returns and starts to make trouble at a water park. Danny fights it off, but Paulina discovers his secret after watching him transform! But she is willing to keep his secret, and be his girlfriend! Life couldn’t be better for Danny, until he discovers Paulina is being overshadowed by Kitty, who wants to make Johnny jealous. Danny now wants no part, but is forced to go along with it under the threat of his secret being blown.

When I saw the summary for Lucky in Love, I thought it would be something cool to see, especially since I heard that there would be D/S complications in it.

The D/S complications were there, which I liked. But other than that, a few things that Butch and the gang gave us weren't all that great.

I thought that the opening wasn't to bad at all. I liked how shocked Danny looked when Paulina was all, "Danny? You're the ghost boy?"

After the opener (which I thought the title screen was pushing the envelope a little), things were okay. I thought the weird name "Inviso-Bill" was sort of weird, but I still find it funny.

I thought it was nice to see the way Sam was defending Danny throughout this part. While it wasn't what you'd call romantic, it was just close care from a good friend.

Once they reached the end of the water park scene, that's when things started to plunge just a little. The joke that Dash made, "This isn't water," was gross and not funny, and something I wouldn't deem appropriate for Nickelodeon.

I thought the way Paulina just said that she and Danny were dating was a little too rushed and a little too unrealistic. Then when Lancer made Tucker smack the erasers just because Danny was now dating Paulina, that wasn't very good, but it still seemed like something Lancer would do...sort of.

I thought Sam was great whenever she saw Danny and Paulina together (ex. punching a hole in the locker, crushing a napkin dispenser, and ripping the flag of a mail box). It was something I expected, and it was one of the better parts of the episode.

Then the music montage started to throw me off a bit. I mean, come on. Running in the park and holding hands? Doing that with Danny and Paulina was pushing it just a bit, but doing it with Sam, Tucker, and Kwan was just not something I liked. That looks like something from FOP.

The way Danny found out about Paulina being overshadowed by Kitty wasn't the way I expected. I thought he would find out without Kitty knowing about it, but in a way, this was fine.

One of the better parts was when Kitty said to Danny about Sam, "You like her, don't you?" If he really doesn't like Sam, then it's easy to say no! He said nothing! The D/S stuff is still progressing smoothly.

The fight with Danny and Johnny at the end started funny, but then got a little dull. Then it started to get downright mushy after Kitty went back to Johnny. There was romance like this in FtF, but that was presented a lot nicer.

Now I've talked too much. Anyway, all in all, it wasn't a very good episode. But in a way, it was still alright. The D/S stuff kept it going, and I give it a 7.7/10.
  • It was pretty good.

There have been other episodes were soming really happens. Now Paulina is in love with the ghost boy. She still hates Danny Fenton. Tucker and Sam relize who they shouldn't go out with. the two they were daiting end up going out. Danny becomes popular just because Paulina likes him. (which isn't true. Paulina was overshadowed by Kitty.) She did it to make Johnny jelious. It worked! Danny fell for the whole thing that Paulina liked him. She even wanted to kiss him. Then Kitty steps out of Paulina to confront Jonny that is when Danny relizes. At the end paulina does not remember wittnissing transformation. Danny is relieved. Danny makes Kitty want Johnny back.
  • Paulina has witnessed Danny's ghost transformation, or so it seems. At first Danny really thought Paulina had seen it. He decided to date her since Paulina was not scared at all. Later on Danny found out that Paulina was actually Johnny 13's girlfriend, K

Not enough ghost action in this ep. It was mostly a love episode. What saved this episode was when we all actually thought Danny's secret was blown, and that Danny dated Paulina. What a pimp! Wasn't he flirting with Sam in a past ep? That kept me watching. I was shocked that Danny and Paulina were actually dating. What were the chances. It just didn't seem right. I was sort of disturbed on parts of their date. That was pretty much the only good thing in the episode. I think this ep should have had more ghost fighting. Johnny 13 didn't put up much of a fight.

paulina and danny a not they are not a good couple in my opinion because they just don't look good together. and why be with this shallow mean girl anyways. I mean if she was'nt overshadowed by kitty but if paulina is not overshadowed then i would say not a good couple danny and paulina. And when paulina finds out Danny Fenton and Danny Phantom are the same person she is going to kill herself because she hate Danny Fenton.

this was a good episode as it hinted at danny's feelings towards Sam, when Kitty was questioning him in Paulina's body, he seemed to stall for time, become very nervous and after that get very angry and change the subject. Huzzah the next step to the path of realisation...

i'm a huge DxS shipper so any episode with a hint of Danny and Sam's feelings is a big hit for me, especially if it's Danny's towards Sam

I thought that this episode was pretty funny. i would have liked to see what would have happened if Kitty had overshadowed Sam though. i think that would have been interesting to see. although it would have been pretty obvious if Sam was overshadowed. Paulina just kind fit because we already know that she is in love with "Inviso-Bill". anyway though it was a funny episode.

Everyone is at ‘Floody Waters’, the new theme park, including Danny, Sam, Tucker, and even Johnny 13’s Shadow. After being bullied by Dash and Kwan, Danny sees the shadow and gets rid of it at the park. Unfortunately, Paulina sees him transform from his ghost form to regular form. If things didn’t get any worse, the police blame the incident at the theme park on ‘Inviso-Bill’ (Danny Phantom). Paulina thinks Danny is hot for having cool powers.

Danny is a little scared because he doesn’t trust Paulina to keep a secret of him. But things work of fine when Paulina announces to everyone that she and Danny are dating. Sam gets very angry, and Tucker feels he has a chance with Star, now that she can’t spend time with Paulina. Since he is dating Paulina, Danny gets accepted as a cool kid and an A-List student, while Kwan is thrown off the group. Kwan and Star start hanging out with Tucker and Sam, who start avoiding them because they can’t stand hanging out with them.

One night, when Paulina and Danny are about the kiss, Johnny 13 shows up and Danny realizes that Kitty has been controlling Paulina’s body this whole time, and he is in the middle of a love rectangle. He finds out that Kitty and Johnny had a fight, and Kitty took over Paulina’s body and starting hanging out with Danny just to get back at Johnny.

Danny is in a fix, because he cannot tell on Kitty otherwise she would use Paulina to tell everyone his secret. Johnny thinks Danny is after his girl and his shadow is trying to get rid of Danny. Can Johnny find a way to get him out of this mess before it’s too late?

This episode is one of my favorites. I think the main reason I like it so much is because we see Danny finally becoming popular in school like he always wanted, even if it is only for a short time. After seeing the previous episode ‘Public Enemies’, which was filled with action, it was fun to watch ‘Lucky in Love’, which was more entertaining for other aspects other than its action. The scenes where Kwan hangs out with Sam is hilarious, and I would definitely see this episode just for that.

I loved this episode, and it is definitely in my top 10 episodes of DP.

Jonny 13's shadow attacks Danny and all at a water park.Just as Shadow goes down the drain Danny Phantom goes to Danny Fenton, right in fronnt of Paulina.Danny at frist thinks its bad,Sam does to til Pauina seems to think it's ok,actually herwords were"i think its hot".So Danny again fights with Shadow,he came out the drinking fountain at school,Danny figths him again. When he comes back Lancer asks where he was,Paulina comes over,Paulina-"he was with me,were dating"everyone freaks out,one guy with a Paulina Shrine crys.Sam punches a locker which causes a hole.Because he's Paulina's new boyfriend Dash has no choice but to turn Danny into a popular kid, which means someone has to get out of the Popluar kid's group.Poor Qwan, hes new friends have to be Sam and Tucker.Paulina and Danny seem happy together,Sam seems to want to kill herself being friends with Qwan.tucker is happy with the turn out of all this,he gets to date Star(Palina's bestfriend)because now she has no one but Tucker. Its not a realtionship for Tucker, its more like just getting to carry around some girls stuff.Sam's still 'friends' with Qwan and out of pity brings him to a Goth potery thing, they get kicked out.Paulina and Danny go bowling,at this part i'm convinced that Paulina's using Danny for his powers. But why ruin it for Danny, not like i can. He's so happy, til he finds out it's not Paulina he's with but Kitty,Jonny 13's girlfriend.shadow and Jony attack but Jonnny leaves saying"you want her runt you can have her"the story is Jonny and Kitty were sight seeing(welll Jonny was for girls)which got Kitty mad.So she wanted Jonny jealious,so she wanted to take over Sam,Kitty"at frist i was gonna take your friend, the creepy chick in the black, you like her don't you...

    Danny-Sam...I..(stared at her)

    Kitty-instead i get in this body,go fig"

Kitty sees no problem,Danny tells her she has to stop, but Kitty says she'll tell everyone he's part ghost. So he has to be her boyfriend, meanwhile Sam is stil with Qwan and Tucker's with Star, til Star and Qwan get together.Danny gets back with Tucker and Sam,the plan is to get Jonny get Kitty back.So Danny and Jonny have a fake fight,Danny is about to blast Jonny when Kitty leaves Paulina's body and pushes Danny off.Kitty and Jonny get back together,Danny is unpopular again,Qwan is popular, evrythings back to normal.Unless you count Paulina is madly in love with with Danny Phantom.

Lucky In Love is one of my favorite episodes, It has some of the funnest moments in my opinion in the series, and Sam's extreme jealousy was priceless, The whole Danny/Paulina thing was ok, Sam destoying something whenever she saw Danny and Paulina together or is was mentioned was great, she crumbled a napkin dispenser like it was nothing, the force if definitely with her (sorry Star Wars fan), also Danny's reaction to Kitty's question about him liking Sam was a great moment. No denial there.

This episode doesn't seem to be too popular, but I fully enjoyed it from start to finish. Probably because Johnny 13 is my favorite full ghost. But I felt like the show was a pretty good DP episode, much better than the likes of MM and PR. My favorite points being:

    A. Sam's utter distaste of the "Paulina"/Danny relationship ("LOOK how HAPPY he is!" *locker is suddenly very broken*), and her calming down a little after she finds out its a jealous Kitty

    B. 13 and DP's temporary alliance to get Kitty off Danny's back.

    C. That we learned a little bit about an enemy's life outside of fighting Danny. Really, they only seem to be villains on occasion.

    D. Paulina's crush on DP that was birthed by this episode. Can't stand her character but this bit of irony is SO much fun to watch.
  • I may be in the minority, but this episode is one of my top favorites.

Secrets, suspense, thickening triangles, and systems falling into chaos. Why does everyone hate this episode so much? The premise is interesting: Kitty uses Danny to make her boyfriend (one of his worst enemies) jealous; she tricks him by possessing the girl of his dreams. She blackmails him with the most important thing he has in the world: his secret.

The bi-plot is just as interesting. Casper High had a very set, specific hierarchy that comes crashing to its knees when Paulina, the most popular girl, starts dating Danny from the very low end of the food chain. The repercussions are hilarious. Paulina's sidekick, Star, with no one to hang out with, starts dating Danny's sidekick. Dash, the leader of the established Dash-Paulina-Kwan trio of friends, kicks Kwan out to make room for Danny, so he starts hanging out with the rest of Danny's old trio. Oh, what a tangled web of cliques high schoolers weave!

The new Superman/Lois Lane-like relationship between Danny Phantom and Paulina is an excellent idea. It's a great way to keep people watching. I just feel sorry for Paulina; many a girl in such a role has not survived very long. In addition to all of this, some of my favorite moments from the show come from this episode.

Johnny: I thought this was a pretend fight.

Danny: Then "pretend" that didn't hurt.

    ----

    Tucker: You okay?

Sam: Of course I am! Why would I not be okay?! Look how HAPPY HE IS!!

    ----

Danny: Kitty? Johnny? Paulina? I'm in the middle of a love rectangle!

One final note: look up the episode of "Teen Titans" titled "Date With Destiny," and think, "Hmmm..."

The show's Valentine's Day special, "Lucky in Love" gets Paulina hooked on one of the Danny's, and adds in a bit of complication between other relationships as well.

Johnny 13's Shadow returns one day, and while fighting him off, Danny's secret is discovered...by none other than Paulina! Though initially afraid of exposure, Danny finds that Paulina is not only willing to keep his secret, but becomes his girlfriend! Life takes a rather unpleasant turn for Sam, Tucker, and a few formerly popular students, but all is fine and good for Danny. But, one night, this perfect relationship goes bad when he finds out that Paulina has been overshadowed by Johnny's old girl Kitty...and Johnny wants her back!

I have to be honest here; I was disappointed in no small degree. It's definately not my least favourite episode, but, given how much I was looking forward to it, and what I saw... :(

I'll start with the opening...I was a few seconds behind in getting to the right channel, so I missed the first few bits, but I really liked the opening. I laughed, found it very exciting, loved the way Shadow returned, and really enjoyed the way it ended before the theme came up.

The theme came up, the episode went on, and I was still laughing. It was feeling a bit too fast-paced, even for me, but I was still enjoying myself.

Then the lunchroom scene came up.

A lot of people said SoG and FtF were too cartoony for a more seriously-tempered animation piece like DP. While I will still defend those eps to death, here, I found things far too over the top and cartoonish. The running around in the park; very overdone in my opinion. I loved seeing The Box Ghost again, but the way the rest of the scene went...bleh. The way the popularity circuit works in the building...OK, I love how Dash, Paulina, and the like are so stereotypical, as it gives the real, definate characters something to play off of, but this was way too cliched. Though I will say, I found Qwan rather funny as a loser ;) But, a few small moments aside (more on that later) that whole sequence up until the commercial felt like it was from FOP instead of DP. And I love both of Butch's shows, but when one takes the others style, things don't go over so well.

The commercials passed, and I was getting myself back together. Then they came on. Things seemed to improve a tad bit; the dialogue felt weak and Johnny's voice sounded different, but found it a bit of an improvement. The explanation as to what was going on was alright (more on this later also), but then things went back downhill. The Star character was just plain annoying, and Qwan stopped being funny. The romanticy, soap opera-like workings of many of the things in this ep bugged me, but in this moment, the dialogue is just horrible.

Then, the trio is reunited. I liked that. Danny begging Johnny for help didn't bug me. I thought it would; Johnny seems like one of the three ghosts Danny really seems to loathe. But I guess that, compared to a lot of other things in this ep, it was handled pretty well. Danny's actually hitting Johnny in their pretend fight kind of showed that not all was forgiven and forgotten, so that made up for the slight OOC-ness of this one situation.

After the pretend fight was over...I had to plug my ears during Kitty's lines. But again, Danny's playing not-so-nice with Johnny in The Ghost-Zone concerning their deal worked out well, and by the end, the trio was set all nice back into place, just as it has been (post-SoG anyway, and I mean this in a positive way), Paulina completely unaware of who Danny Phantom really is.

The ending, Danny's and Johnny's scenes (for the most part), and some other bits (still more on that later) were all wonderful, and elevated this episode for me. But the complete OTT and OOC-ness of the popular circuit and the handling of the romance/fake romance/pity/any kind of boy/girl interaction outside the trio really killed a lot of this ep for me. Dash's line about the contents of his gun "not being water, if you get my drift" was the third time gross-out humour as been utilised in the series, and I'm not happy about it.

And Lancer has expressed favouritism as far as contributions to the school are concerned, but would he really care about the popular circuit? The attempt at teenage slang was funny as always, but his reactions towards Danny's moving up the ladder really unnerved me.

Now, for what I did like ^_^ Again, Danny and Johnny still being at odds worked out well, though I thought Johnny was much more effective in 13. The trio working together was nice, and I liked everything going back to normal by the end. The ties into 13, PE, and FtF were nice.

Speaking of FtF...Sam's moments of jealousy were probably my favourite thing about the ep once the cartoonish nature set in. The flames aren't all cooled from being fanned, eh? ;) Danny's reaction to Kitty's comment on Sam was also great. D/S has been kept to the minimum since FtF, but this stuff was wonderful, subtle, and goes well with that particular plot point ;)

Those moments elevated the ep above the other truly cliched eps (my opinion); AotKGS, SI, and FN. But too much held it back, and again, I was really wanting to see this ep, so I felt really disappointed by it.

5.6 out of 10; I felt disappointed, but there was stuff that I liked, and I'm not going to think less of the show by any means.

This episode, in my opinion, was pretty bad. I was geatly dissapointed, since we were on a roll to returning to the original style with "13" and "Public Enemies." With this episode, we were back to the quality of episodes such as "Shades of Gray" and "Fanning the Flames," which I thought were extremely dissapointing.

All right, all right. Paulina/Danny was way too over done and became just plain silly. It was like Fairly OddParents meets Danny Phantom. Way too silly, not enough depth. I noticed two of the directors of this episode - Ken Bruce and Gary Conrad - did major work on directing and writing on Fairly OddParents. In my opinion, they do a great job on that, but I don't think it was a very good idea for them to direct Danny Phantom.

Danny Phantom + Fairly OddParents = Bad.

No offense to them, but I think they should just concentrate on Fairly OddParents and leave the Danny Phantom directing to Butch, Wincat Alcala, and Juli Hashiguchi.

Nifty bit of continuity in the 'pretend' fight with Danny and Johnny, when Danny wasn't actually 'pretending.' Shows that he still hasn't forgotten what happened in "13." I liked that. Also, Paulina still remembers that Danny saved her life from "Public Enemies." More nice bits of continuity. The "Inviso-Bill" thing was pretty funny, but just a bit over done.

The beginning part where Dash shoots Danny with a water gun, and says "By the way, this isn't water, if you catch my drift" was pretty gross and unfunny, not to mention innapropriate. Title screen was pretty innapropriate as well. I liked the return of The Box Ghost, but I didn't like how he returned. Pretty silly. Star was an annoying snob. Kwan wasn't that funny and got annoying quickly. This episode had very little depth, and over did the cartoony mood.

Also, the animation in the second half was very choppy. The animator did a brilliant job on "Public Enemies," but it looks like we're back to square one now.

The whole episode was like something out of FOP, which I don't recommend mixing with DP.
