  • This was simply lame. I believe it was the worst episode of Danny Phantom I've seen.

This didn't do anything for me. Sure, Danny gets sick and tired of being bullied by Dash (who wouldn't?),so what? This can happen anytime to anyone. So what makes it special? Not much. Just that a ghost named Pointdexter who was bullied all the time gets back at Danny for being a bully just because he got revenge on Dash for bulling him. Now, in this episode, there wasn't much action or adventure. I was kinda bored while I watch this episode. I did laugh at the beginning when Danny fell in the box of props from a play and wore those girl clothes. THat was funny to me! The only thing I would have changed was the whole thing, seriously.

  • One of my Favorites!

Splitting Images is one of my favorite episodes of Danny Phantom. I don't know why the average score is a 7.4. This episode is about after a series of humiliating run-ins with Dash, the school bully, Danny uses his powers to get revenge and triggers the ghost of Poindexter, a kid who was shoved in his locker so many times, he haunts it to this day. Danny must battle this ghostly defender of nerds and geeks, while proving he's not the bully Poindexter thinks he is. I loved this episode a lot. It was so good and it was very interesting.
  • Danny and Poindexter switch bodies and lives, as revenge towards Danny for "bullying" another kid in school.

Despite other opinions, I actually enjoyed this episode. I enjoyed watching the 50's version of Casper High school. Original and entertaining, Butch and the others did such a great job with the 1950's styles that high school kids wore. From the poodle skirts to the jackets on the football jocks, the entire planning and plot was brillant. You have to apreciate how much thought was put into this episode. It was well written and thought out and, all in all, it taught younger kids a nice lesson as well. I enjoyed the part with The Box Ghost in the beginning and Danny in that pink dress was absolutely adorable! I enjoyed this episode a lot.
  • Danny is forced to switch places with a nerdy ghost who gets bullied constantly.

    "Good"
In my opinion, this is probably the worst episode I have ever seen in the series. I know it's wrong to bully people, but I actually enjoyed the fact that Danny was getting back at the people who bullied him all the time. I didn't care for Poindexter. I couldn't stand the fact that he thought Danny was the bully when it was actually everyone else. The thing I did enjoy was when Danny was in the fight with the Box Ghost and he was accidentally forced to wear those girl clothes on stage in front of everyone in the school.
  • This episode really reminds you of what a ghost really is. The spirit of a dead person who was wronged in life, so walks the earth for eternity. Poindexter may not be the best villain, but he sure has a story that makes him an interesting character.

Poindexter was a nerd who went to school at Casper High 50 years Before Danny started going there. He was picked on so badly that he must have done something horribly wrong to be stuck in the school he was tortured in for all eternity. Im guessing he must have commited suicide, or someone that picked on him played a really cruel joke that went a little too far. That is the reson he took over Danny's body in the episode..Mainly because he probably hated his life because of the bullies at the school, and because he thought Danny was a bully wanted to make a comeback and help people who are picked on by other people.

I also thought that part where he was taking over Danny's body was freaky and cool at the same time...I like the spinny head part lol...

Yeah so I thought this was an awesome episode because they gave Poindexter great character development, and i thought the idea was cool where they switched bodies for a time..This is forever one of my favorite episodes.
  • It was okay not the baddest. But how they showed it I didn't like it that much...

The message was good I have to admit it. It's not too bad but not my favorite episode. It's got things that just don't work. And the fact about Poindexter was bad too. He was a really disapointing villian. Not that he was really a villian but still he didn't have much of a character. It was if they just mashed together some idea and didn't give him much life. Danny was a bit out of character too which when the first time I saw it I never noticed. But after I saw it I noticed. This was definatally not fully the halfa I know. It's not the baddest episode but I could take it or leave it.
  • Not such a great story. It had a good message for Danny but wasn't porperly executed.

In this episode Danny learns that he shouldn't use his powers for his own personal gain.Danny has to change lockers after the Box Ghost trashes his locker. He finds out that the locker belonged to a nerd named Poindexter.Danny gets tired of being picked on by Dash and company so he decides to use his ghost powers to get back at him.The ghost of Poindexter sees this and thinks Danny is a bully so he switchs places with him.Poindexter takes Danny's body and starts living his life, while Danny is stuck in Poindexter's body and forced to endure his bad life.Danny calls Tucker and Sam and they push Poindexter into his locker after Danny fights Poindexter he gets his body back and leaves.Danny learns not to abuse his power.

The episode had a few draw backs in this episode for me.Poindexter wasn't a good villain and the plot was to weak for me to get into this episode.I believe the message was good for Danny it could have been put into a better episode.
  • Well Written episode, like what you want , this episode was well written! like all danny phantom episodes this one was very Well Written

And i even act out the dance scene from splitting images! i love this episode!
  • Danny uses his powers to get back at Dash’s bullying, but it unleashes the wrath of a nerdy ghost, thinking HE'S the bully.

    "Mediocre"
After the Box Ghost trashes Danny’s locker, he is assigned number 724, which is said to be haunted. Later on, when Danny has had enough of Dash's bullying, he uses his ghost powers to get back at him. But this unleashes the wrath of Sidney Poindexter, a nerd who used to get bullied back in the ‘50's, whose spirit haunts Danny’s locker! Thinking Danny’s the bully, he switches bodies with him, sending Danny into a 50’s spirit world!

Hmm…sorry, but I really didn’t like this one a lot. I did think of this as worse, but going back through it, I’ll give it a little more credit. Some parts in SI were okay, but most of it was overshadowed by what was not so good.

The opener was pretty good to start with. Sam brought back her true activist ways with her protest against dissecting frogs, even though I think she may have gone just a little overboard with that as time went on. The little fight with the Box Ghost was very funny, even though I have to say that it was pretty sad to have Danny be…well, not really beaten, but just sort of incapacitated. Oh, and the being in those clothes for everyone to see was hard to believe. I mean, how can those clothes just fall on him, and then he stands up from them, and he’s suddenly wearing them? The clothes were also pretty creepy.

After the opener, things started to head downward. I might be able to understand that Danny would want to use his powers for payback since he hasn’t had them for too long and doesn’t know how to use them, but I just didn’t like the way it was presented. It just felt too rushed and had little or no time to really develop in a very good way.

Apart from Sam’s frog campaign, I liked the way she was portrayed throughout. She seemed to realize Danny wasn’t doing the right thing with his powers, and that was IC for the one of the trio who is usually the most logical. But I felt that she was given the short end of the stick at the end. Although her campaign was a success, she was not acknowledged for it. Lancer’s comment about her learning about activism, when she was the one who started it, summoned it up.

The scene at Danny’s house with the family was something I minimally enjoyed. I just didn’t like that Jack and Maddie already wanted to stake out the school when Danny had said nothing about the locker. Jazz was somewhat IC there, even though I didn’t entirely like her comment about Danny being “a clumsy nerd”. But her comment about girls maybe talking to Danny in college was pretty funny.

Danny had his highs and lows in this episode. His pranks on Dash were his lows. But the scene where Danny saw the other jocks picking on other kids and he seemed pretty mad at them when it wasn’t at his own expense was pretty nice, but it would have been better if he had stood up for him.

As for Poindexter, I didn’t like him that much in this episode. While in his first fight with Danny, he did certainly look like an even match for him, but his actual personality just sort of rubbed me the wrong way. While I like that he seemed somewhat compassionate as looking out for those less fortunate, he controlled all the food in the school to splat everybody, so I didn’t like that. I also didn’t like that he wouldn’t listen to Danny’s explanations about Dash being the bully instead of him. Certain types of misunderstandings are things I never enjoy, and here was no exception. But Poindexter’s weird lingo from the ‘50’s was funny, sort of reminiscent of the hilarity of Technus.

The scene where Danny wrote to Sam and Tucker on the ground, only to have them close their eyes, and then have the writing erased when they finally looked, was too FOP, quite like the most part of the episode was.

The final fight was really funny, but didn’t exactly have the appropriate mood for a final fight. Danny’s remarks about Poindexter and the glasses were funny, as well as Poindexter’s pathetic attempts to try and punch him with Danny’s powers. But it was more like a joke battle. But Danny’s quick thinking into tricking Poindexter into overshadowing him so he could regain control was pretty good.

And the ending was done okay. But the fact that Danny’s quick popularity status was wiped out just because of his new locker location was a little harsh, since he had already been put through enough grief. But it’s probably what had to be done, since Danny is pretty much regular as an unpopular kid. The Box Ghost’s final scene with the mechanical frog was funny, and that kept me from giving this episode a rating of less than a 5.

But that doesn’t stop me from making Splitting Images my least favorite so far. 5.5/10. Sorry, Butch.

I liked the storyline in this episode and found it quite exciting. Danny switches bodies with another ghost, who is a geek, and then is sent to his world.

I liked this episode cause the storyline was good but i didnt like it because there was not as much comdey. Overall though it is an ok DP episode.
  • When Danny starts using his ghost powers to pick on Dash, it releases Poindexter, a ghost who use to be bullied and uses his powers to get revenge on bullies. When Danny and him switch places, Danny learns a good lesson.

I have no idea why this is THE least popular episode of Danny Phantom to date. I think some of Poindexter\'s lines when he\'s in Danny\'s body are hilarious. Like \"Oh, that square? He hit the coop. Permanent-like.\" I cracked up when I first heard that. It is also has a good message: Even if you can do something, doesn\'t mean you should.

Now, there are some weaker points to this episode. It is kind of confusing to me and it uses a bit to much toilet humor in my opinion. But for the most part I\'d gladly watch this episode over \"What You Want\"
  • in this episode danny learns that having ghost powers means using them for good instead of bullying kids around

this was a pretty boring episode in my opinion. I mean the ghost that should have been the villain wasn't the villain instead he was the defender of nerds. actually i can't blame sydney pointdexter for doing what he did to danny because danny was being mean to those that crossed his path. it was time danny learned a lesson actually worth lerning. seriously though pointdexter was a powerful opponent because he was the first ghost to ever used an optic ectoplasmic energy blast. and i have to agree with poindexter that danny should not have bullyed dash even though he has bullied danny countless times
  • Not one of the better epis

Danny gets revenge on Dash using his powers, Sidney Pointdexter get out of his "Spirit World" and takes over Danny's body. Danny gets sucked into the "Spirit World" and is bullied by the people in there. Danny gets out, Pointdexter gets stuck back in his "Spirit World" and everything is normal again. Very boring and dissapointing for me to watch. But if it is only thing on...... then i watch it out of boredom. Not a "great" epi, but it's ok. Sad to think Butch actually made this epi. Thankfully show picked back up after this fiasco of an episode.
  • When Danny uses his powers to get revenge on Dash, he triggers the ghost of Poindexter, the ghost of a bullied boy who haunts the locker he used to get shoved into.

    6.5
    "Fair"
Overall, Danny seemed very out of character throughout this episode. First of all, being defeated by the Box Ghost, of all possible villains; and overshadowing Dash at the beginning for revenge ... very unlike Danny. Also, the main focus of the episode seemed more on Poindexter than any of the other characters; and Poindexter is far from the world's (well, Danny's world's) most interesting ghost. Of all the episodes I've seen, this is my least favorite. It was silly where the others are interesting. If I had seen this episode before any of the others, I would have walked away from the show and found another.
  • Danny learns that 2 wrongs don't make a right the hard way has he switches spots withthe ghost Sydney Poindexter after getting back at Dash. Danny is trapped in a ghost world and he must find a way to get back to the real world.

    7.4
    "Good"
The worst episode yet. This was just a filler episode. It was boring since Poindexter wasn't much of an enemy, making Danny look weak. Danny finally steps up against Dash and he had to pay for it. Poindexter is dumb since he was doing the same thing Danny did and that's paying back a bully and he thinks he's doing the right thing. When he possessed Danny he made him look like a weakling. When Poindexter was possessing Danny, those strange faces he made during the process was annoying. However, it was funny when Danny was in a dress and messed up Sam's Save the Frogs campaign. The sad thing is, that was probably the only good part.
  • Wait! Wehn Danny and Sydney poin dexter were fighting. Sydney poin dexter is against bullying but he was being the bully too by fighting with Danny

Wait! Wehn Danny and Sydney poin dexter were fighting. Sydney poin dexter is against bullying but he was being a bully too by fighting with Danny. So poin dexter is a hypocrite because he was being a bully because he was sraying paint in danny's face and punching him. I think know poin dexter is a bully nobody else.
  • This was my least favorite DP episode and I love the series!

    4.3
    "Poor"
I normally rate DP episodes high, but this one was not good! I can't begin to say how much it annoys me! The show has pretty good episodes. Not ever the OOC Identity Crisis was worse than this! Long story short, the episode had very, VERY few good points. That is why I declare this rating 4.3!
  • in this episode everyone is classified.A.V.geek, popular, bully, Cheerleader. It was a little confusing how Danny and Pondexter switched and unswitched bodies.

    10
    "Perfect"
Sydney Poindexter should not have taken over Danny's body. But in a way danny was a bully. Poindexter trapped Danny "in this bazzaro spirit world" to make Danny relize what being bullied is like. As if have Dash around isn't enough. Danny was being a bully but cleverly strightened everything out with Pondexter. "Oh that square, he flew the coop. Permanently."
  • Episode 5 - Splitting Images - My review

    9.0
    "Superb"
Sam has a new agenda to stop students from dissecting frogs in the biology labs, and Danny and Tucker help out. Just then, the Box Ghost appears again and Danny changes and starts fighting him. They move all the way to the auditorium where The Box Ghost attacks Danny with a box of props and wardrobes. Before he can get back, the curtains go up and the entire school sees Danny wearing a dress from ‘My Fair Lady’.

Sine the Box Ghost trashed Danny’s locker, Danny is assigned a new locker, Locker 724. Tucker and Sam say that the locker is haunted but Danny doesn’t believe them. Dash makes fun of Danny because of the dress he wore, so Danny starts using his powers to humiliate Dash in front of his friends. Also, now that Locker 724 is open, weird things start happening to the bullies who torture everyone at school, even though Danny has nothing to do with it. However, when Dash once again decides to bully Danny, Danny makes sure Dash gets a proper treatment, and start torturing him by using his ghost powers. While Danny is doing this, Poindexter, a ghost from the 50s whom Locker 724 was assigned to, comes out of the locker and sees Danny bullying Dash.

Poindexter used to be the laughing stock of his time and everyone made fun of him and bullied him. So his spirit haunts those who bully others, and in Poindexter’s eyes, Danny is the bully. Poindexter finds out Danny’s secret, and also learns that ghosts can move into a human’s body. He decides to take over Danny’s body; leaving Danny stuck in another dimension where Danny is Poindexter. Danny’s only communication with his real world is through a mirror in Locker 724. Using Danny’s body, Poindexter actually becomes popular, and Sam and Tucker starts suspecting something’s wrong.

Will Danny be able to escape from Poindexter’s dimension and return to his own world in his own body?

I liked this episode because it was fun to see Dash getting the treatment that he deserved. I got mixed feelings for Sidney Poindexter, because you can help feeling sorry for him and hating him at the same time. The strange thing is I never expected Poindexter to become popular when he was in Danny’s body. The storyline had a lot of twists and was fun to watch.

All in all, I found this to be one of the better episodes of Danny Phantom.

This was an ok episode, Danny gets tired of Dash bullying him so he gets revenge, A ghost named Sidney Poindexter, who was bullied when he was in school, starts thinking Danny is the bully and traps him in his world. I found that this episode was lacking an interesting storyline, there was some humor, I thought the fact that Danny get punshed when Dash is the real bully was somewhat unfair.

Tired of Dash’s constant bullying, Danny uses his powers for some well deserved revenge. Then Sidney Poindexter appears; the ghost of Danny’s new locker, 724, who was bullied all his life. Thinking Danny’s the bully; he overshadows Danny, and Danny gets transported to Poindexter's 50's ghost world! Where he's the nerd in a school full of bullies!

"Splitting Images" I found was a bit similar to the previous episode: "Attack of the Killer Garage Sale," but still a bit more comical at the same time. Danny was using his powers to torment one of his enemies for himself, which actually made him the bully in this episode. (Poindexter was partially right when he accused that the ‘halfa’ was the bully) The episode mainly focuses on bullying and how it can affect other people too, especially at the end where Danny gives a little speech on how he\'d learned his lesson. (Now he knows what Poindexter felt like when he was bullied!) This episode related to one of the biggest issues to teens this very day: bullying.

The moral: revenge is not the answer to solving your problems.

I thought that Sidney Poindexter was sort of a ‘cute’ character/villain to work with as the nerdy ghost had no idea of what he was doing in his ‘new’ world. (1950’s meets the new millennium.) The character’s commitment was very noble, defending the weak from harmful bullies. (Butch Hartman has done it again!)

It seemed that this episode was just a filler to be put in there for mostly laughs. The fight with the Box Ghost was hilarious to watch, but it seemed a bit embarrassing for Danny to be in a dress in front of an entire audience. We also learn what a ‘halfa’ is: a ghost/human hybrid.

A couple of funny parts was when The Box Ghost returned for the second time in the series as a minor role at the beginning and end, and Mr. Lancer\'s hopeless struggles with the frogs that Sam took from the Biology lab to raise a campaign to use a safer way of dissecting them.

Overall, the episode was a repeat of the previous one as well a great episode to watch. I give it a 7.5 out of 10.

"Splitting Images" finds Danny being assigned a new locker after his old one is destroyed by the antics of The Box Ghost. It's located near Dash's, and fed up with the jock's bullying, Danny begins using his powers to become the bully himself. This upsets the spirit of the locker, Sidney Poindexter, who, having been bullied all his life, now seeks to defend all those bullied. Thinking Danny the bully, he uses his powers to take over his body!

"Splitting Images" felt too similar to "Attack of the Killer Garage Sale," which was a sub-par episode to begin with. Danny is again acting foolishly and acting on selfish impulses. The episode focuses on cliche teen morals, right down to Danny giving a speech on how he's learned his lesson. The lesson is a bit different; bullying as opposed to shallow desire for popularity; but the execution was the same, and rather poor. It felt like I was watching a standard live-action teen show with no originality behind it. Poindexter was somewhat charming as the unknowing villain, but he got annoying and hypocritical fast.

As with the previous episode, the animation is is dull and the fight sequences laughing any originality. They seemed to be put in there for laughs most of the time. That works on the show, but only under certain circumstances; when the fight involves The Box Ghost, for instance. When it's a big fight that effects the outcome of the episode, it should be taken seriously. There was little to nothing in the way of breathtaking cinematography either.

But this episode does have its merit. The Box Ghost was even funnier in his return than he was in "One of a Kind,"and Mr. Lancer's hopeless situation with the frogs made for a good laugh. And, while I don't like the way they did it, Danny does grow as a character again.

Overall, it was a repetitive episode, and the episode it repeated wasn't great to start with. 5 out of 10.
