Daria

Much to Daria's annoyance, her economics class visits the newly opened "Mall of the Millenium" as part of a field trip, in an attempt to study supply and demand. The class are excited to be going, and the only two people who oppose the idea are Jane and Daria.



The bus ride to the mall is undoubtedly the best part of the episode. Kevin starts singing an annoying song, UpChuck preys on all the females on the bus, and Britney does a cheer when they get nearer. Daria's experiences while in the mall dont go much better, with her being a 10000th visitor to an embarassingly lame shop, bumping into Quinn and having to get a lift home with the fashion club and their "guy".



Quinn and her friends are at the mall because they sneak off from class. Wrong it may be, but their appearance is enjoyable, and yet another highlight of the episode. Exploiting this fact, Daria blags a free lift home from her sister and gets her to do housework for a month.



In true Daria style nothing gets left unanswered and everything comes full circle, in the end amounting to nothing. Would we have it any other way though? All in all, a good episode with lots of laugh-out-loud moments.

There is a lot of this episode that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me but that is part of why I enjoyed it. The ‘bus ride from hell’ was funny. Every annoyance that one could possibly think up happened on the ride i.e. 99 bottles of beer on the wall or Brittany’s cheer. The Fashion Club makeover part was funny along with the hairstylist wanting to give Jane a TV haircut. Daria being the doo dad winner was also great. All in all it was a good episode. I give it a B+
