Daria

This short little black and white episode or whatever it's a general portrait of the show, they couldn't get the essence of daria any better than this. Except, of course, of some little differences (some changes in the voice and character's personalities).. But they were good changes in it.. made by (I think it was mtv) and daria was edgier, funnier and more ironic sarcastic and all of that. Pilot episode, let's say, not for us, a great one which couldn't get the idea of this show any better *as I was saying in the beginning. If they convinced mtv, they certainly have convinced me too, althought it wasn't more than a sketch.

Daria is an excellent show that is kind of like Ghost World. Its very creative and funny. Its excellent, an instant classic. Too bad this episode wasn\'t aired, but I luckily was able to watch it. The episode rocked and was well done. Daria is a very realistic girl about a girl who is misunderstood who has to deal with her loser sister, her weird classmates, and school and many more things. The show is very funny, and orignal. I never knew this shoe was cancelled anyways! Sadly I wish this show was never cancelled, but luckily will have DVD\'s. Watch Daria its fun to watch

well, this episode is a rare one...it was unaired and was only available on the Daria videos (sorry no dvd yet, but i hear that mtv has been working on getting it released for some time now, but because of all the music featured in episodes it is kind of tricky somehow)

it also was shown in parts of the behinds the scenes daria feature..

i also hear there are a few copies floating around somewhere...lets just say a bear shared it with me.

anyway, it's very short, in black and white, and gives insight to how some of the characters could have turned out. all i know is that thank goodness they changed the way daria smiled... it's rather creepy in the pilot.

but as far as pilots go, this one seems so far off from the show it seems like a completely different show...wouldn't be the first time for a pilot, but hey i've seen worse.
