  • Another day another mishap for Max.

    8.5
Interesting episode. You get to see how close Max can get to Lydecker with him knowing that she is right in front of him. I like how there is always twist and turns in the series and this episode is no different. It also shows how we can prejudge people and situations and our opinions totally change when a friend is in trouble. The group over at Jam Pony makes for an interesting bunch. In a post apocalyptic world weird to see an group so diverse get along so well. Especially when it involves religion. Much better than the previous episodes but not the best.moreless
  • On the hour every hour...

Much better! The interplay between Max and Lydecker is chilling and you can really feel Max's anger/discomfort when she's forced to talk to the man who tortured her for years on end. Logan, also, comes in handy (for once!) and the bit where Max saves him is genuinely laugh-out-loud funny. And while the Jam Pony crew don't have much to do, it's good at least to see them in the episode! The hostage storyline is aided by some marvellous music and the acting overall convinces, and wehey, there's a decent fight scene at the end too. It'll get worse before it gets better, a hint at the dread to come from this already bleak series? Let's hope so!moreless
  • Kendra is going to this conference of a Dr.Tanaka. Max becomes interested in it after finding out it has to do with with genetic manipulation. Logan gets her in. She ends up sitting next to Lydecker and even saves his life when May2nd holds them hostage.moreless

I must admit this was the first episode I\'ve watched since the show\'s ending years ago (happened to catch the tail end of a marathon on Sci-Fi channel). Watching this episode reminded me of why I watched the show to begin with. All the technical gargan and of course Max\'s kick-butt attitude. There was also the \'not-so-subtle\' sexual tension between Max and Logan present, so that made it even better. There was enough action throughout the ep that it kept you watching but not so much that it was all you were seeing. My favorite would have to be when it first came on and Max just started spewing off with all of the scientific stuff concerning genes to Kendra was like, wow, how can anyone not wonder what is up with her.moreless

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Why does Lydecker not recognize Max? He hasn't seen her since she was a child, however he should know what she would look like now based on the multiple clones of her at Manticore.

    • Towards the end of the episode Lydecker (with no gun) walks up to a soldier, takes his gun, shoots a terrorist, puts the gun back in the soldier's holster, and walks away with gun in hand.

  • QUOTES (8)

    • (Max & Logan both crash through a window and land on a bed. They then speak at the same time)
      Max: You all right?
      Logan: You okay?
Max: What are you doing here?
Logan: I was going to ask you the same question. I went to a lot of trouble to get you released.
      (Max hits Logan's shoulder)
Max: What were you thinking... exchanging yourself for us?!
Logan: You should be thanking me.
      Max: Thanking you?
(They're both talking at the same time)
Max: You'd be thrown off the roof....
Logan: You'd be with those morons...
Max & Logan: If it wasn't for me
      Max: Forget it.
      Logan: Never mind.
(Max attempts to get up but falls on top of Logan)
(They continue speaking at the same time)
Max: I should go save the kid.
Logan: Just go save the kid.

    • Kendra: What are you doing here?
Max: You don't know me. My name's Rachel Glasser. I'm a journalist. Don't ask me how I got here.
Kendra: Your rich boyfriend, that's obvious.
      Max: He's not my boyfriend.
      Kendra: Yeah, yeah.

    • Sketchy: What's the point of being bisexual if you're celibate?
      Original Cindy: Thank you.

    • Max: But you know what really bums my ass out? I had a chance to swipe some towels from the hotel and I totally spaced it.

    • Logan: Ordering myself a new wheelchair. Looking for one with the jet thrusters.

    • Lydecker: You look like you were around in the days before the pulse. Your parents brought you over to visit your little friends. Carpools to soccer games, art schools. And do you really think, Miss Glasser, that your childhood prepared you for the life that you have to live now?
Max: My childhood wasn't quite like that.

    • Max: You're such a gentleman. (slams the terrorist to the wall) Too bad I'm not a lady.

    • Logan: So...that was Lydecker.
Max: Yep, my own private Anti-Christ, up close and personal.
      Logan: Shorter than I imagined.
