10/13/81Miss Hawk meets Edward and Tracy and makes friends with them. They all follow the Friendly Ghost's instructions and find a passage in an old book which is hard to read. Edward works out what it might mean. For more, see Recap.
10/6/81Edward Dark and Tracy Brown talk to the Friendly Ghost, who gives them clues to the treasure. Miss Hawk, another dealer who is after the treasure, arrives at Dark Towers. For more, see Recap.
9/29/81Tracy is looking at a picture on the wall, and it talks to her, but the two Darks hear nothing. Lord Dark says that some people see ghosts, but he doesn't believe in them and doesn't see them. Edward shows Tracy over the house - a lot of dusty old rooms. They meet two men, Mr Benger and Mr Bunce, who say they are "experts on anything old". Edward explains that his father needs to sell some pictures so that he can mend the roof. Outside, they see the men's van, with the name 'Museum of Long Ago', but it is on a plastic sticker which is starting to come loose. Back in the house, Towser barks and Tracy and Edward see a man appear - the man from the picture, who introduces himself as the Friendly Ghost. By way of proving this, the ghost pats Towser on the head, and the dog has no objection.moreless
9/22/81Tracy is walking her dog Towser when he runs off into a wild garden. She follows and meets a boy sitting on a wall reading a book. He introduces himself as Lord Edward Dark of Dark Towers and tells Tracy to leave. She says she's lost her dog, and Edward helps her to look for him. Tracy and Edward find they are both loners who like to read. They come to a big old house and see Towser. Edward chases after him, while Tracy opens a door into the house and sees a tall knight with a sword - but it's only a statue. Then she meets a man who introduces himself as Lord Dark, Edward's father. He says that although he is a lord, he's not rich, just a struggling artist. He inherited the old house, which has family ghosts. The statue he's working on is the Tall Knight of Dark Towers, who is one of the ghosts.moreless
