  • Darkwing is bitten by a radioactive spider while chasing Moliarty. But stranger stuff lies ahead as Darkwing grows six arms and an ability to spit web. He turns into Aracnoduck.

Fantastic episode. Which is kinda strange since Moliarty is the villain which I have never liked as much as say: Quackerjack or Negaduck. But he delivers some really good lines and is actually pretty funny at times. The Aracnoduck costume is too similiar to Spider-Mans but it's no big deal. A well written episode that is pretty funny but most of all exciting and it serves as an instant reminder of why you watch this show in the first place.moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (5)

    • When the henchmen and Moliarty tunnel into the lab, the henchmen come out first and their noses are black but when one of them call to Moliarty to come on out, his nose is a pink/tan color then changes back to black after Moliarty comes up.

    • When Darkwing captures Moliarty's henchmen in the lab, it shows one of the henchmen wearing Moliarty's glasses even though Moliarty comes running in with his on.

    • When Professor Moliarty and his two henchmen break into the radioactive vault, one of the henchmen asks Moliarty why they have to wear the protective suits and one of the henchmen tells why in Moliarty's voice then is back to Moliarty in the next scene.

    • How could Darkwing blame his sixth arm for breaking the plate that fell on his right when that arm is on his left?

    • This episode aired out of order. Professor Moliarty's actual first appearance was in That Sinking Feeling

  • QUOTES (2)

    • Gosalyn: I guess we better give Dad the antidote.
Launchpad: Uh, can't we wait one more day? I mean, those arms turned out to be pretty...uh...ahem, handy.
Darkwing: (Washing and drying dishes) Ooh, a fine pastime for a crime-fighter. Hmm, exploited by my own family.

    • Moliarty: Soon the surface dwellers will fear the might of Professor Moliarty, and the world will be my oyster.
Darkwing: Oysters are out of season, Moliarty.
Launchpad: Yeah, so maybe you'd just better clam up.

  • NOTES (2)

  • ALLUSIONS (4)

    • Spider-man

The entire episode is similar to a saga in the Spider-man series where Spider-man's mutation increases causing him to grow extra arms and become more Spider-like.

    • Professor Moriarty

Professor Moliarity is a parody of Sherlock Holmes nemesis, Professor Moriarty

    • Darkwing: Oh! what a wicked web we weave, when first we practice to deceive!

Darkwing is slightly misquoting a passage from Sir Walter Scott's Marmion (1808):
"Oh! what a tangled web we weave
When first we practice to deceive!"

    • Aduckyphobia:

The episode title is a play on Arachnophobia which is the fear of spiders
