  • Trivia

  • Quotes

    • Darkwing: (After being squashed into a shape resembling a beanbag) If this happened with a cartoon character he would just say 'ai, ee' or 'yah', and then resume his shape. I on the other hand am experiencing pain like you wouldn't believe.

    • Darkwing: I am the plot twist in the second reel!

  • Notes

  • Allusions

    • The title of this episode is one of a number of episodes from different TV shows (Murder, She Wrote, The Powerpuff Girls, Alvin and the Chipmunks) that have played with the phrase "flim flam", which refers to the aspect of tricking or deceiving someone.

    • Darkwing: Yes, you have no bananas today!

This is a reference to an old folk song Yes! We have no bananas written in 1923 by Frank Silver and Irving Cohn. It has become quite famous since then.

    • Son of Kong

The title of the film Gosalyn wants to see is 'Son of Kongo', an obvious reference to the 1933 Son of Kong. A sequel to the original King Kong. However, the gorilla that is brought into reality is more like the original gorilla in King Kong (the gorilla in Son of Kong was white). When the ape climbs the tower with Gosalyn in his hand, this is clearly a reference to the scene in King Kong where Kong climbs the Empire State Building carrying Fay Wray.

    • Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

The character of Andy Ape is very similar to a certain Roger Rabbit, and the cartoon 'Wacky Times with Andy Ape ' is very like the cartoon at the beginning of the 1988 film Who Framed Roger Rabbit?. The way Andy Ape speaks even sounds like it was based on Charles Fleischer's voice for Roger.
