    Megavolt creates a device that allows him to travel through electrical wires. He uses it and goes from appliance to appliance. He then gets to a TV set and figures out that he can transmit himself over the airwaves and go from TV set to TV set. He uses this to start a crime spree by tuning into TV sets, jumping out and grabbing money or items, and then disappearing back into the sets.     • Jeopardy Megavolt: Yes, Alex. I'll take electrical connections for 500. Direct reference to the popular game show Jeopardy hosted by Alex Trebek.

    • The Tonight Show Megavolt: Ladies and gentlemen...here's Megavolt (Does golf swing in air) This is a direct reference to how The Tonight Show would start the show each time with Johnny Carson being introduced the same way and he would do the golf swing most nights.

    • I Love Lucy Voice on television Oh, Goosey, I'm home! The quote was done the same way that Desi Arnez would say "Oh, Lucy, I'm home!" on the popular old show I Love Lucy.

    • Wizard of Oz Darkwing wonders if there is a yellow brick road he and Megavolt could follow home. This is a reference to the yellow brick road in the Wizard of Oz that Dorothy and her friends follow.

    • Twitching Channels The episode title is a play on the saying Switching Channel.

    • Chip N' Dale's Rescue Rangers are indirectly referenced (The episode was originally planned to be a full crossover with Rescue Rangers, but that plot was rejected.)
