This episode was loosely adapted into the comic book story "The Chicken Flyboy" (Hanna-Barbera Fun-In #6, Gold Key, March 1971).
Dick Dastardly: (getting his former Vulture Squadron teammates to sign his "memory book" before they leave) Just sign on the dotted line, Zilly.
Zilly: Sure, Chief, anything you say. (signs the document)
Dick Dastardly: And now you, Klunk, an X will suffice.
Klunk: How do you, uh, (makes weird noises) spell "X"? (signs the document)
Dick Dastardly: And my old pal, Muttley, put your paw print right there. (Muttley puts his paw print on the document, and Dick then picks it up and reads it) Thank you, gentlemen, and now if you would be so kind... (shouting) Into those planes and stop that pigeon!
Zilly: (flabbergasted) That's no way to talk to us civilians, Chief!
Klunk: Yeah! (makes weird noises) After we signed your memory book too!
Dick Dastardly: What civilians, and what memory book? You knuckleheads just signed re-enlistment papers... for four more years!
Zilly: Oh no!
Dick Dastardly: Now, into those planes, before I have you court martialed for insubordination!
Zilly: Y-yes sir, right away sir!
Klunk: Yeah, me too sir! (makes weird noises, as he, Zilly, and Muttley run out of the hangar)
Dick Dastardly: (laughs) Sometimes I'm so sneaky, I don't even trust myself!
