Tom Cruise, who last year made waves while promoting War of the Worlds, is again making waves while he is promoting his upcoming film Mission: Impossible III. This time, Cruise joked he will eat the placenta and umbilical cord of pregnant girlfriend, Dawson's Creek star Katie Holmes, after she gives birth to their first child together.
In an interview in the May issue of GQ magazine, Cruise says, "I'm gonna eat the placenta. I thought that would be good. Very nutritious. I'm gonna eat the cord and the placenta right there."
However, on Friday night's interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC's Primtime, Cruise said it was all a joke.
"Isn't that normal and natural? No, we're not eating it," he replied when asked by Sawyer about the comment.
Cruise's admission that it was a joke came too late for many Web news ...Read more
After months of high-profile media attention, Katie Holmes has given birth to her first child with Tom Cruise.

Teh statement also said Suri is the Hebrew word for "princess" and the Persian word for "red rose."
With the Cruise-Holmes baby out of the way, global media attention can turn to more important issues, like Brad Pitt and Agelina Jolie's baby, due in May.
In other Cruise news, Parade.com, the online space of the Sunday newsmagazine Parade, reported that anonymous individuals rigged a poll to come out in the actor's favor.
The site asked users if Cruise had been responsible for his media problems or if the media had smeared him. Overwhelmingly, respondents blamed the media--and Parade was a ...Read more

Former Dawson's Creek star Joshua Jackson is returning to series television with a lead role in a CBS legal drama pilot.
The untitled project, from CSI executive-producer Carol Mendelsohn, revolves around brilliant legal associates at a powerful DC law firm who battle moral, ethical, and legal challenges under the tutelage of a ruthless managing partner.
Jackson will play a first-year associate whose career takes an unexpected turn when he is assigned the case of a death row inmate.
The actor, who played Pacey Witter on Dawson's, will next be seen in the indie features Bobby and Aurora Borealis. Last year, he starred opposite Patrick Stewart in the stage production of David Mamet's A Life in the Theatre in London's West End.
I mean I don't mind having Joey pick Pacey but to have Dawson rehash their all relationship again in another TV series is not really fair for Dawson he deserve his own happiness.I would much rather see the show bring back Pacey sister Gretchen and have him end up with her and be happy. I think she is much better suited for him than Joey ever was
America's most enthusiastic new couple has decided to make their love official.
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes announced their engagement in a Paris press conference held earlier today. Holmes sat silently smiling with an enormous diamond gracing her ring finger as an ebullient Cruise detailed his wee-hours proposal at the "beautiful and romantic" Eiffel Tower.
"Today is a magnificent day for me," Cruise said. "I'm engaged to a magnificent woman."
The whirlwind romance of Cruise and Holmes has drawn much media attention in the past few months, along with skepticism as to the authenticity of their relationship. Cruise demonstrated his love in a now-infamous appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, in which he leapt about the studio crying "I love this woman!" Both stars have denied rumors that their affair is a publicity stunt constructed to draw interest to their upcoming films.
Since the actors began dating, Holmes ...Read more
It's the end of something simple. And the beginning of everything else. Set in the fictional town of Capeside, MA, Dawson's Creek is the coming of age story of four friends on the verge of adulthood. Dawson, Joey, and Pacey are life long friends, whose lives start to rapidly change when a new girl, Jen, moves in next door to Dawson Leery and the foursome start high school. Along the way they are joined by two other newcomers to Capeside: Jack and Andie and, when they go to college, by Audrey. Often characterized by its intelligence, sharp wit, and SAT vocabulary, Dawson's Creek was created by Kevin Williamson. It was loosely based on his life, with each character incorporating a different aspect of himself.
The show quickly launched the careers of its stars, turning them into world known celebrities and, in the words of The WB, defined a network. Dawson's Creek was filmed primarily on location in Wilmington, NC.
Theme Songs: I Don't Want To Wait performed by Paula Cole and Run Like Mad performed by Jann Arden - Season 1 (international airings only) and Seasons 3-6 on DVD (except the series finale, when it played Paula Cole's song).
