EDIT
Joey is chosen to be part of a group of students to paint a school mural, but when hers is defaced before the unveiling, Dawson offers words of encouragement while Pacey takes action and risks suspension when he goes in search of the culprit. • Joey's artwork gets vandalized.

    10
"Crime and Punishment" is one of the best episodes of Dawson's Creek. It's so intense and dramatic. I love the drama with Joey's artwork being vandalized and she makes that awesome speech and she runs away all upset. My favourite scene is Pacey and Matt fighting. I love how it's a real physical fight instead of one of those lame fights. I love how Pacey sticks up for Joey. Andie is my favourit character so I loved her part in this episode. As you know I love how she stole the PSAT and how it affected her character. I like how she finally confesses to stealing the PSAT to Principal Green and he's nice to her about it since she feels guilty for what she did. I give this episode a 10/10.moreless

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • Goof: Jack mentions that the "P" in PSAT stands for 'Practice' but P.S.A.T. actually stands for 'Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test'.

    • Goof: At the end of the episode, when Joey and Pacey are repainting over the ruined mural, Joey starts a small section that turns out to be a much larger one when Dawson shows up and glances at it. It is not likely that she could have painted so much in such a short amount of time.

    • Goof: When Pacey is applying a raw steak to his black eye and Joey arrives, Joey's hair changes from being tied up to being loose.

  • QUOTES (1)

    • Joey: Well, Principal Green said the mural should focus on what unifies us as a school. And if you think about it, nothing really unifies us. Even our mascot is divisive. The Minute Man - right there you've alienated half the student population. So, the only thing that I could think of that unites us all, that we all have in common, is that... well it's that we all start off in kindergarten thinking that we can be anything that we want to be, and by the time we get here, we... we've somehow lost that feeling. We've all started to believe whatever our parents or friends have told us about what we can achieve and who we can be in life, and... and we've forgotten about that possibility we had when we were younger. And that's what I think we all have in common, and that's what the symbol on my painting means - possibility. I painted it because I thought we could all use a daily reminder that, if you believe in yourself, even when the odds seem stacked against you, anything's possible.
